So far I haven't had any issues. This is a modified driver so you do have to disable Windows' Driver Signature enforcement.

There are other benefits, a few tweaks and also made some options available that you can't use on the official.

- Just install drivers like normal. Then install ReadyDriver.

so, it's supposed there was no 10.9 for mobile this time from ati/amd????
an now 10.9a??? -
Cheers, -
-
Notice any difference performance wise?
-
Maybe it's just my impressions, but happy with these. -
So this mainly fixes power play for those having problems and addresses the games listed in the release notes? No need to move right away to this unless the lack of these features impact you, right?
Cheers, -
I'm just letting people know it exists. If you want to try it, go for it. There are a few different tweaks and options that don't exist in AMD's drivers, AMD decided to disable some features, who knows why.
Plain and simple, want to try it, try it. That's all. -
does it solve the scalling issue with 10.8? Its irritating having to change the scalling each time i connect with HDMI.
-
-
I shall wait for you and other adventurers to test them out.
Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, -
10.8 is working fine for me. I'll wait for 10.10.
-
Fastest drivers I've used so far since getting my G73 in February. But the image quality is phenomenal. I'm enjoying them.
-
hey ziddy can u help me how to edit the inf file..by steps..sorry nubie..thx
-
Unzip the file, go to Packages/Drivers/Display/W76A_INF
Edit: C7104558.inf
Add: "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870" = ati2mtag_Manhattan, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_68A0&SUBSYS_1C021043 -
just adding this line code you made desktop catalyst compatible with mobile vga cards?? -
Yes it simply makes your card acceptable for the installer. It is done for nvidia drivers as well. But these drivers won't have all customizations(power etc) made for laptops i think but should run allright.

what files did you sign with the overrider to allow install just the .inf?
to use the overridder dont you also need to be in test mode?
I know these things because I have done it with my drivers for the PS3 DualShock 2 controller but for others these things would be unknown and should be explained.
Also noticed the crysis test says Vista? It it just too outdated to report 7? or were you really on Vista instead of 7 for some reason? -
This has all the power settings. The person who has made this driver has been modifying drivers for laptop use for almost 10 years now.
The Diver Overrider does put it in test mode, believe there are other solutions.
- The driver also includes a ReadyDriver which will automatically disable driver signature at each boot. Extends boot time by about 5 seconds. Works fine though.
- Packages/Apps/DNA-ATi-RDP
The Crysis 64 only runs when I force it to run in Vista 4 SP2 mode. -
still cant get it how to install..ive tried it just now but they said its error...pls show it step by step..thx ziddy..
-
Hi ziddy does the crysis benchmark involved GPU overclock? If not that's pretty nice FPS =) And one hell of driver.
-
There are a few things the drivers unlock to give a boost to image quality. -
I'm liking this driver so far.

Just a few things.
First that .inf file does not exsist for me, the proper .INF file to edit was - C7105140.inf for me.
Next up is how to make it work.
After changing the .inf file properly you can install the drivers easily there will be a warning window telling you the driver is not signed and ask if you want to install it anyways. Hitting yes WILL install the driver. If you look at the install log it will say "success"
The problem most of you will run into is that at reboot the system will not initialize the driver because its not signed.
Your options.
1.) Hit F8 every time you boot your computer and select "disable driver signature enforcement"
2.) Use the recommended program DriverReadyPlus that is included with the DNA driver download. It basically automatically presses F8 and selects the disabled signature mode.
I personally do not trust programs like this and refuse to use them so I go with method 3.
3.) Sign your own drivers with the program listed above. Its a long process but you only have to do it once. Then you can forget it and it will work.
The list of files that have to be signed for this driver package (after you install it) are.... HERE
And yes I took like a dozen screen shots and sliced that together in photoshop for you.
Remember once you signed the drivers you still have to have test mode enabled for it to work, but thats also a one time deal. You can turn it off later if you wish when you use official drivers.
There is another program that can remove the test mode watermark if you wish its linked in the driver override program.
For sure not all of those files have to be signed to work, it may just be the 3 files in the /drivers directory but I signed them all just to be safe, only took like 10 minutes. I opened the image and went one by one and used copy/paste for the directory so i only had to type the file name.
Edit: Ran Crysis Bench... Interesting result only 32fps average for me stock, then did a 800/1100 overclock on gpu and 1.75ghz CPU overclock and got the same exact score.... -
Would this still GSOD on stock bios?
-
-
If anyone with 206 has tried out these drivers with any success, I'd appreciate the information. -
If you want to stop your GSOD, update your vBIOS. It is the only known fix which has been stated several times throughout recent threads.
-
-
This driver has nothing to do with GSODs. All it is to give you that performance that AMD improved upon in a few games while you wait for 10.10. When 10.10 comes out, I would install that. 10.9a is not a necessity, but there have been a lot of praise for 10.9a. It is curious that AMD didn't release for mobile when it seems from 10.6-10.9a this has been the best release so far.

-
Can anyone give a noob-proof way to install this dna drivers please.
I tried many ways but all of them unsuccessful...and the readydrivers plus is not included in the package. -
I uploaded one with the ReadDriver clearly seen and the modified INF included.
-
)
With 10.7a my average was 24
10.8 increases to 27
waiting for dna drivers
PD: just messed up all my system bacause I follwed the Vicious instructions for signature. System restore is a nice feature -

Working fine for me via the manual sign method, no pressing F8 @ boot and no readydriver install. -

No GSOD here on any drivers so far and I still have the stock VBIOS.
I do have the newer system bios just recently but had the stock system bios for the longest as well.
My order of drivers was Stock --> 10.4 leak --> 10.6 alpha leak --> 10.9DNA so I never really used any "normal" driver released by ATI they were all beta drivers or leaked drivers and now recently these modified drivers.
These are the first ones I had to do the manually driver signing for, all the leaked drivers I used before were straight up installs w/ no hassles because ATI has every vid/pid code included in them for testing and has them signed.
No performance gains that I can see or IQ gains that I can see over the drivers I was using before, and no notable fixes for any games that made updating necessary. -
Woot. Thanks Ziddy. The line to be added to the .inf you supplied fixed my "Wrong OS" error I was getting from other modded .inf's for the 10.9a's. Now they are installed and sailing smooth.
-
I've upgraded the drivers from the stock 9.12 to 10.8 to 10.9a.
Immediately started GSOD-ing when i upgraded to 10.8 tried going back to the stock ones but it would say the video drivers have failed to install and i would be stuck at 1440x so that basically left me with no options.
So essentially i am asking should I try updating the vBios for the GSOD's or try troubleshooting and getting the stock drivers to work, I mean i know there are definitely advantages using the new drivers over the old ones but are they worth the hassle ?
Please advise. -
-
Yes i have read the stickies not once but many times. All i am asking is should i revert back to the stock drivers or flash the new vBios.
-
The advice to your question has been given NUMEROUS times in several places.
-
UPDATE YOUR vBIOS! Plain and simple. Newer drivers (especially almost a year newer) are almost always going to be better than old ones. Especially since new games depend on driver support these days more than ever to get the full usage of the latest GPU's.
-
Thank you.
-
I still use 9.12 and can play every game pretty solid
No problems for me... but when I've time I might take the update(s)
Q -
But as I have over 200 games installed, to get them all to work right usually required a full update to the latest drivers on my desktop at least lol. Laptop has about 1/2 that installed. -
Another Steam-head with 100+ games
-
I have at least 40+ of the games I have yet to even play yet lol.
