I've been thinking of buying a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB to replace my ST9500420AS Momentus 7200.4 SATA 3Gb/s 500-GB Hard Drive that is in my 2nd drive slot in my g73jh. I have my operating system running on a intel ssd. Would this be a good upgrade or not worth bothering with.

In your situation, since you're already using an SSD as your boot drive. I wouldn't bother getting the XT..You wouldn't feel any difference..Momentus XT will only add to performance if you use it as your boot drive..

You could go for WD Scorpio Black 750GB..There might be performance increase there..Worst case is at least you got a 750GB drive..If you're really itching for an upgrade.. ;)
