Hi all, I have an asus G73 JW, I bought an Asusvg236HE monitor for it but apparently the only connection that can run 3D with is DVI. The laptop doesn't have that! How is this classified as a 3d computer if there is nothing that can support this so called 3D in even 720P?

Doesn't your notebook have HDMI? Just get an HDMI to DVI cable. I got mine cheap at amazon.com

The monitor you're using is compatible with 3dvision which uses dual link dvi cable, in other words..desktop cards.
For 3d using laptop hdmi you need a monitor that supports 3d over hdmi (1.4a input) which is the same standard that ps3 uses.
    That's 3dtvPlay which differs from 3dvision.
So unless you have such input/feature in your monitor you can't use 3d vision. Those monitors are specifically made for desktop cards, the others with 3d over hdmi are made for consoles/desktops/laptops/dvr's.
As an example since I didnt want my 3d monitor to be only desktop compatible I bought an acer hs244hq bmii which supports 3d over hdmi,it has 2 inputs and I'm able to do 3d with desktop/ps3 and laptop.
See if you can swap your monitor with this one.

Yes it will. Beside standard resolutions such 1080p@60hz, with the monitor I adviced you can do 3d 720p@120hz and 3d 1080p@24hz (for 3d blueray movies).
