I'm analysing the ASUS G73 BIOS and I found methods how I could add support for monitoring of additional fans on this model into HWiNFO32. But I need a little help from owners..
Is anyone here willing to participate a send some data so I can check them?
At first I'd need to run the RW-Everything Tool available here:
    RW - Read & Write
When installed, please run and click the EC Icon (Embedded Controller).
I need to get dumps of following situations: machine idle and under load

Oh, and please one more thing:
I need to run the latest HWiNFO32 Beta ( http://www.hwinfo.com/beta/hw32_359_930.zip) and send/attach a Report file with sensors + Debug File (HWiNFO32.DBG when run in Debug Mode).

So here's a Beta where I added experimental fan reading for ASUS G73 (1-2 additional fans should appear under ASUS G73 sensor):
    www.hwinfo.com/beta/hw32_359_937.zip
Please try it and report if/how it works + Report and Debug File so I can analyse it...

EDIT: Updated link to the fixed Beta

It is not very accurate. Some times both FAN1 and 2 jumps up to several hundred or thousand RPM. Good job tho :)

This beta works for my g73. Now it's recognizing perfectly the turboboost behavior of my 720qm. About the fans, it's recognize them (Fan1 and Fan2), but the speed increase under demands need more work. Fan1 jumps from 210 rpm to 9150 rpm, but the fan2 remains stable at 160 rpm (min150 max 210 under battery). Al this report was under battery (300/1000 idle) and watching a youtube video 1080p (500/1000 powerplay activated all the time) in battery mode. The system specs are in my signature.

I think Fan1 is VGA and Fan2 is CPU. At least running furmark Fan1's RPM increased.

Mumak is there any possibility at all that fan Control could be implemented somehow by tapping into the Bios fan profiles? Its a bonus to see the rpm if it reads correctly, but you cant really do anything with that...

I was just informed that the fans reported by Beta 937 should be in reverse order: 1. = CPU, 2. = GPU
Will fix this in the next Build along with other minor updates for G73..

I'm sure there's a way how to control the fans. One should decode the ACPI DSDT (AML) and try to find it there.. Then make many experiments..
However, it's a bit tricky since it seems to be wholly controlled by custom EC.
I haven't found the fan control methods yet (only reading)..

I updated the EC communication method which caused the stuttering, but it needs testing.
    EDIT:
However, slight lags cannot be completely avoided due to the nature of the EC communication protocol. If you disable the EC sensor it should work without lags, however you won't get those readings..
    Here's the new build:

Some mobos don't seem to have the PCH sensor reporting properly calibrated (it was stuck all time @ 59 C), so I removed the reading in such case. But I'd need to get a HWiNFO32 Debug File in order to check if this is your case too.

According to the dump you sent, your machine seems to be the case where the PCH sensor is not properly set-up (calibrated). So HWiNFO32 doesn't report the PCH temperature in this case.

When did HWiNFO32 stop reporting it - after upgrading HWiNFO32 to a new version or after upgrading the chipset driver (or anything else)?

I remember it's stop to work after change some program settings. I came back to the original setting but this doesn't help. I tried to update chipset driver and hwinfo32 but also this doesn't change nothing.

Is it normal for Hwinfo to run up 128mb of ram? Not like I'm hurting for memory or anything, but that's quite resource hungry for a monitoring program.

I guess it's quite normal. It's not just a pure monitoring software, but a complete hardware inventory. It has large internal databases of all kind of hardware, stores monitoring data history during run, etc...
EDIT: Just in case.. Have you had the HWiNFO32/Sensors opened for a longer time?

my only issue is that u have to press 3 times to get to temps. Could you make the sensors just pop up like that? i do use the rest of ur software sometimes but pressing configure and open , well can't it be removed and added to main menu when u need it? No offense but i'm lazy :D

So far, your app runs nice in my system. The system detects all the 3 sensors and reports the same temps than AMD GPU Clock. Also detects correctly the fans. Not sure about the precise speed of them but the app detects the speed increase from 2880 aprox in iddle to 4760 aprox under load (furmark). Thanks for the complete app.

The GPU fan under the GPU sensor might stay at 30% since this value comes from GPU registers and on certain notebooks the GPU fan is controlled via other chips (like EC). For G73 you should see the GPU fan RPM speed under the "ASUS G73 EC" sensor. Do you see it there?

Please go to Configure right after launching HWiNFO32 and there you can customize which windows will be automatically opened on Startup. So you can configure it to open Sensors right after start. This setting is remembered so you have to do this only once (it will be saved into HWiNFO32.INI, so if you take the HWiNFO32 with that INI file, those settings are preserved).
