I use my laptop for gaming and only use the mouse. I have it set up so when a mouse is plugged in the touchpag disables. For a month no problem but now it is like my mouse is acting like the touch pad. When I mouse over something I hear the computer tick sound and tries to stick to the place. If i move my mouse of a screen of objects I hear the same ticking sound. Any idea how to stop the synaptics settings from interferring with my mouse?

Sounds like a problem with your mouse, not your computer.
