    My 5v line is not working

    I have an asus g50vt and my fan is not working. it stopped working after i noticed my usb port screwing up. So since the fan and usb pots are on the 5v line i decided to try the fan on a separate 5v source and it works just fine.
    What could cause my 5 volt line to malfunction?
