I am wondering what I can do that I haven't already tried. My Asus is slower than usual lately. I haven't used it all that much since I first got it new at Best Buy.
Here is what I have done:
I run Microsoft Security Essentials, Spybot Search and Destroy, Malware Bytes, CCleaner and auslogics Defragmenter every time I run it (about. 2 times a week).

Would increasing to 8 gigs of RAM instead of 4 help a lot???

    Thanks

Hi, have you already checked following items:
Power4gear settings? Maybe its not configured to deliver 100% burst on mains.

Did you checked cpu & gpu utalization in idle? There are some bitcoin miner viruses out there consuming your system ressources. Lot of them wont be detected by antivir Software.

    Hope this helps!

P.s.: 8gb will be fine but dont expect "wonders"

Do you have a G73? (Not that it matters) but whatever computer you have a clean install of Windows would be a good idea especially if you are running a factory bloatware loaded image. Also are you running a 5400 RPM hard drive? Updating to an SSD drive should really help along with the aforementioned clean install
