Well, simply 20mins ago I was watching a YouTube video and the computer shut its self down. It didn't just go black, but turned off as off as if I clicked shut down myself. So I though WTH?
Then I rebooted it and all that came up was the asus load screen then an empty black screen with a blinking cursor in the left hand corner. I shut it off again and left it be for 10mins and tried again to no avail.. The problem is I got lots of info I foolishly didn't backup on a USB and really need this fixed.

Do you think it's the hard drive or overheating and I should leave it for a couple of hours?

Boot into the BIOS and make sure your HDDs are being detected.
