OK so, I got my lap top like 3 days ago, so far I really haven't had any troubles with it, but looking on this forums I see a couple of issues that can be easily fixed, like I got rid of the power 4 gear and creative things just in case.
The main issue im having is that whenever I play a game for a while occasionally the screen will go black, but it isn't always just the regular black it would be all messed up like black and gray lines. The only way to fix it would be turning it off and back on. Sometimes when it happens the music still works or it just starts making retarded sounds by playing over a bit of the sound.
Note that it always doesn't happen, but Its kinda annoying and can I stop it permanently?

It could be power managing problems. put back the power4gear. Also set power management to high performance. I'm not sure this will fix your problems but this should be done on most g73 as p4g handles performance issues.

Nope doesn't seem to work, seems to cause them more frequently now.....

I am regretting my decision on buying this laptop lol. -
Return/RMA it; sounds like you got a bad one.
There are plenty of G73's which have never experienced an G/B/PSOD no matter what drivers/software they have running. -
Seems like some sort of GSOD.
Try updating your vid drivers if you haven't already..if you have, revert back to stock. -
I got same kind of screen few days ago when playing R6 Vegas 2. It was brownish screen with grey lines and sound looping. But it only lasted a few seconds and gaming continued as normal. When I stopped playing and came back to desktop I noticed CCC was gone, but other than that everything was normal. It hasn't happened since, don't know what was going on.
I had original cat. drivers then with my original vbios modded to 1.1v/0.9v and overdrive enabled and 780/1100 clocks. After that I upgraded to cat 10.6 and no probs so far. -
Anyways, my first g73 ran a little hot and had a BD drive, and I returned it and got one w/o a BD drive (Saved $$$$) and my second one runs great. -
Usually the GSOD is due to driver issue according to many users here..
Not a hardware problem. Note that this usually happens while playing a game..
As previously said in many threads and many times, at this current stage, since G73J is a "new" laptop, it is best to stick with the stock drivers (provided on a CD) except for the creative package that should be completely discarded since it is considered dangerous causing freezes and other serious issues..
Best of the best is a clean install and no messing around with anything..
You still can "tweak" by adjusting the usual settings lol

P.S: after receiving my laptop (with all the bloatware/crapware on it) i installed steam, played a little, installed 10.6 new ATI drivers (just for the sake of it, for no reason), adjusted my creative settings, re-run steam another day, experienced many "freezing" (hard reset was required) uninstalled creative (software then software+driver "Audigy HD etc."), reinstalled the old ATI after freezing occured while playing "The Witcher" (very nice game in between) then uninstalled some of the bloatware, still I was still experiencing "freezing" when gaming for a couple of minutes, then what to do?? I GOT LOST.. messed up to much with this install/uninstall/replace cycle... lost track and all was messed up..
So a clean install was done today, drivers from ASUS CD only installed (except creative), steam reinstalled, downloading again the witcher now and some other games and everything seems more stable, more under control.. Hopefully games will run smooth (it's a gamer laptop afterall isn't it?)
I'll keep you updated.
