SO my G73 was unrepairable since they couldnt obtain the parts. So now I have $1,300 store credit from Best Buy. Since they don't have the G73 anymore what should I look into?

Why did you only get store credit? You should have gotten a refund if it is unrepairable.

I think I would get about $1300 worth of iPads or a MacBook (since Apple stuff seems to have a higher resale value) and sell it and get a non-Best Buy model notebook.

But, if they can't supply you with a comparable replacement, you should push for a refund.

Either that or get it back and go through ASUS and get a new laptop. That's unacceptable.

You can get a refund or you can request for the greater model. As far as I know it should work like this, it's not your fault that they do not have the same model in store anymore.

So I just got back. I almost went ahead and got a M17 Alienware but I couldnt spend an additional $650 for a lower laptop. So they ordered me a new one and it should be here in a week. But I told them I want to check it out for dead pixels before I take it home.

To hell with that, i would've demanded a replacement or a full refund. No way would i walk off with store credit for a top-line gaming laptop. I hope you told them the best place to stick their in-store vouchers, i would've.
