    Hello guys,

My Asus G73Jh-A2 kept BSOD since 3 days ago. It stated that it has a memory problem after I diagnosed it with Windows Memory Diagnostic. The solution offered by Windows is to contact the computer manufacturer in order to repair it (according to the diagnostic report).

I'm not so sure yet whether I want to RMA it or not. Thus, I want some advice from you guys 1st. Thanks in advance!

u might have a faulty memory module.. see which one is faulty by removing one by one each time and seeing if u BSOD.. if u don't BSOD without the one u have removed , that's the faulty one.. ask Asus for RMA of the module..

Thanks for the prompt replies. I have tested the memory modules and it is definitely the problematic memory modules. I will take it for RMA for sure. Can I just take the memory modules for RMA without the notebook?

You will probably want to RMA the unit. They may wish to test the mobo as well.

You might want to note when it is BSODing also. My G73 is currently in RMA status after having it BSOD nearly every time I'd try to install an ATI catalyst driver. It would also BSOD coming back from sleep/hibernate on nearly any driver as well. The video card finally died while playing a game and I shipped it off for some RMA work after contacting Asus.

I'll post back with my results, but let us know if your are seeing BSODs at random or during specific actions, such as I did.

Your BSOD conditions sound familiar to my case too. My notebook will BSOD randomly when I want to do an action such as watching YouTube, editing my vids via Sony Vegas Pro 8, clicking back button in my web browser and etc. :(

However, I'm sure that my BSOD is due to one of my memory module as I have tested it by pulling one off from my notebook and it was working strong since then. NO BSOD. :)

I will RMA it soon but may I know what is the procedure of RMA? May you share with me?

I called the number for my country on this webpage:

    ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

I had to wait on hold for a long time, but I spoke to the rep who finally answered and explained my issue. They gave me an RMA number and also emailed me with the RMA number and information of where to send the laptop for RMA service.

They didn't send any prepaid shipping labels, so be prepared at least to ship it over to the service center. THey should pay to ship it back once it is fixed.

You have to pay the shipping fee to the Asus Service Center?

For smaller items, I think they cover the cost, but heavier notebooks or large items aren't typically covered, no. You can always drive there and deliver it by hand, depending on the facilty that is selected for repair.
