    Hello.
I am proud owner of one of g73 models that dont suffer from SODS for over three months now. Although I didnt haved very high temps was encouraged with other users here posting good temp improvements after repasting. And decided to do the same when I get time. And because one must open this laptop completely for repasting I decided to see what more one could find to do there :). To make long story short I did repasted tim and moded my laptop with two wireless recievers, one for razer mamba and other for xbox 360 wireless acesories. I have even used one of three buttons on left corner to conect conection button for mamba

Here are some pictures. And as you can see there is much dust on grill where air should flow so my recomendation to anyone who repasting their laptops check there to, does not matter how good job you doing with repasting if grill is blocked for airflow.

If anyone has questions about how I did it and which points I have used feel free to ask.

Yeah but its stright forward and no hassle at all. As long as you know what you are doing. But it is really worth it. I`m so happy to dont have to stress with all usb dongles around me any more.

I'm hoping to embed mine tonight (the Razer Mamba that is) however I am hoping to stick it on the mobo whwere the left over PCI-E pinouts are.

I am also very much liking your idea with the connect button using the Splendid button (I never use the Splendid button anyway) this is a GREAT idea and I think I will pinch it from you :D

I never thought about the connect button, my mouse always just connects... lucky you posted this thread heh, and thanks for the help in my thread :D

I believe there is enough place there for reciever. Yeah I came on that idea becouse sometimes mamba refuse to connect automatically and this button was never used from me so it was easy. By the way I was very påleased with temperatures to after repasting. But I suspecting you are not going to open g73 right? Believe me its completely worth effort. If you had it for more then three monts then there is probably dust in fan grills which is not good for health of your baby :).

    Which picture?

Oh... I have already re-pasted my heat-sinks, I had to pull mine open because it had a clicky fan at low rpm, so I took it apart to oil the fan :D

There is no way I could solder onto the PCI-E pinouts without taking it appart also, I need to flip the mobo :D

I'm thinking I may hold off on the soldering for a few months though, I want to burn in everything and make sure I dont have to send it back before I try anything drastic... I may look an an alternate method to embed it without solder...

did you need to sacrifice the functionality of any of the usb ports on the laptop to embed the receivers or do you still keep em?

Was the lights on the fan there before you modded? Or did you mod it on?
    If so, how? :D
