    Hi guys,
So currently im using a ASUS G551J laptop running windows 10 with a 50 mb internet speed
i live in a condo and alot of people are using the same company TELUS.
my wireless speeds are simply awful,i experience buffering problems while trying to watch videos etc.
i have used inssider to see what wireless channel i could potentially go to to no avail.
i purchased the n53 to try the 5 ghz band however im running into many problems, trying to get it to work.
my telus modem is a T1200H.
Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

    Well that didn't help.
I wanted to see if the card you have even supports 5GHz band but there are two possible AR946x cards - AR9462 which does support 5GHz band and AR9463 which does not. Go figure...

When you use inSSIDer, can you actually see any networks in 5GHz tab?

You can either check the hardware ID or try using software like HW Info to get the actual name of the radio chip.

This is a dual band version, so you should be able to connect to 5GHz band.

Really? Would my Telus router be the issue in that case?

Well that's rather embarrassing. I haven't checked that before as but assuming you did that.

This router is single band only, so no 5GHz for you unless you buy a different one.
