Please recomend me a SSD,HDD and a cooler for my Asus G73JH-BST7.
Recomend the the best compatible part's rather then their price performance ratio.
Thank You

I would use the Intel SSDs if money is no object.

For hard drives for saving data go with the WD 1tb drive.

For a hard drive for everything else.

The G73 really doesn't need a cooler. It may help a degree or 2, but nothing overly noticeable. -
I like everything he just said. I like OCZ Vertex 2s they are cheaper and faster than the intels, but the intel does have a better reliability reputation.

What about the latest Intel 320 series SSD's which is known to be 3rd Gen SSD's?
Newegg.com - Intel 320 Series SSDSA2CW080G3K5 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
And a Segate Momentus XT SSD Hybrid:
Newegg.com - Seagate Momentus XT STAN500100 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5" SATA 3.0Gb/s Internal Laptop Solid State Hybrid Hard Drive
Accompanied with NZXT CYRO :

,
I was wondering to get the best out of the best cooler for my new Asus G73JH-BST7,and had stumbled upon these two coolers:
1. Amazon.com: NZXT ACC-NT-CRYO LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler 120MM Adjustable Fans (Black): Electronics
2. Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER SF-19 Strike Force Notebook Cooler Model SGA-6000-KKYF1
Both the models stock fan shall be changed with these ones for better CFM regardless of the noise level:
Newegg.com - Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan
Please give me a good overview which shall be good for my hot laptop!!! -
Depends if you want to keep things quiet personally I went for the Zalman 3000 because it gives good airflow but remains virtually silent.
Good price and it looks tidy as well and fits the G73 easily i use it on my bed.
Remember that the only vent on the G73 is the maintenance panel and unless you remove it the airflow from a cooling pad is not going to make a lot of difference or unless you have modded the casing. The G73 architecture is made to remove the hot air using the rear vents while keeping it at a certain temperature to maintain fan speed, cold air firing itself around the inside of it is not really the idea. -

i just removed the entire mesh and installed two 120mm CM XtraFlo (94CFM) fans in my Sf-19, MUCH higher airflow now without excess noise and vibrations
now with a modded vbios so that stock clock is 750/1000, my 5 min furmark run doesnt even touch 80... and in games like crysis 2, max temps are 75-76
If i test with the bottom plastic panel removed then games barely cross 70..
anyway, @OP, from personal experience i'd say Sf-19, but you WILL need to mod it, like removing/modding top mesh and installing aftermarket fans... -
Please see the thread I just posted about cooling methods for my G60JX: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asu...68968-effective-g60jx-cooling-my-results.html
I believe they would be very effective for your G73 as well. -

Fatality, all the drives you are looking at are fine. Personally I would get a sandforce sf-1200 or sf1222 controller drive. OCZ Vertex 2s can be bought for $170 for 120gb on rebate. I couldn't buy a 80gb intel for 190$ when a faster OCZ drive is cheaper. Lots of threads on this, try using search to read up on it.
I can't comment on the cooling pad, I don't think you should need one. -
I was actually confused,The intel drives are using latest generation 25nm chips and are also quite known to be the most reliable in the SSD business,so that;s why I was preferring it.
And about repasting,I am afarid to do it myself and where I live in Bangladesh Asus has a 3rd party warrenty provider who has denied to RMA any products out of it's own stock!!!
I got this from the USA and the other items shall be so... -
You still may not need repasting anyway. Unless you laptop is operating at 100C+ there isn't too much to really worry about. The difference between a GPU that operates at 96C v 86C is probably zero.

Where Can I Get These CoolerMaster XTRAFLO Fans....
I need somewhere online that will ship them to me in Canada!!!!!! -
-
My temp. was reduced about 4 - 6c using CM-U2 (just bought it for $13 not bad).
Idle temp at 55-58c without re-paste
@Topic:
How about getting NZXT CRYO LX.
SF-19 looks great but you have to modify it to make it more useful (as stated). -
Highly recommend the Zalman 3000U fits the G73 perfectly and really nice design if like me you wanna use it on a bed because it is raised so the fan still gets air.
It has one large very quiet fan and USB 3.0 port.
-
CM SF-19 looks like a toy...it looks awesome but I rather choose decent style coolers. No more modding of coolers too. -
-
My CPU it at 50-53c with cooler... didn't notice the temp before I used the cooler
Got my laptop since a year the only problem at the beginning was the GPU like lots of people the first week i got the laptop and i have RMA my laptop and work perfectly since then.
Edit: and forgot to say that I didnt overclock the GPU or CPU too so -
The "U" model has an active usb controller (with optional ac).
In the FAQ thread there is a link to reallife pics. -
We have both good temp for our laptops. That's good that you don't have any more problem in your G73
In short, laptop coolers help -
Yes most definetely a couple of oC may not mean much but under load it will make a difference to the lifespan. -
King of Interns Simply a laptop enthusiast
I use a Cryo LX with a 12V universal 2000ma DC adaptor and it works a treat if and when I can be bothered to use it
with my cooling just sitting it on the cooler non operational is enough.
The fan speed control is burnt out but the fan speed is much greater so who cares -
After a year I guess I need to upgrade my cooler from CM U2 to NZXT LX Black.
I found reviews and comparison that NZXT performs better but not much difference from SF-19.
I like the clean looks of NZXT, and just trying different brand -
As far as a boot drive goes, I'd recommend an ocz vertex 3, if speed is deciding factor. If you do choose it, make sure to update the firmware to 2.09, orm you'll have a MASSIVE failure rate on the SSD, and it'll be likely to brick on you. From what I understand however, the firmware drastically improves it's reliability, and should definitely be looked in to, especially if your system begins to intermittently fail to recognize the drive. This is the first sign of failure, and means seriously need to update it.
Other than that though, it is a lightning-fast SSD, which is very, very nice. Also, the intel 500 series SSD's take a close second in performance, and are currently the most reliable of the SATA3 SSD's on the market right now. That being said, the most reliable SSD right now is akin to the world's tallest midget.
If speed isn't a priority, then drop in a hybrid drive and be done with it. It's much faster than an HDD, and is directly in the middle as far as practical results go.
EDIT:
Also, since it's a JH, you'd be better off with a SATA-2 SSD. Same rules apply, but I'd definitely recommend an intel X or 300 series in this case. If you want a vertex 1 or 2, then you're asking the wrong guy, because I'd just be spewing irrelevant crap, seeing as I know absolutely nothing about them. Just check the newegg reviews, then check whether the problems with them have been updated or not; it's essentially the only reason I know anything about the subject, and is a great idea. -
NZXT CRYO LX or CM SF-19 ; Which is the best for Asus G73JH?
