My latest understanding of this is :
The G74SX requires Nvidia 3D glasses to use it .
The G53SX needs no glasses - hence it is called "Naked Eye 3D" , and is one of the first laptops to have this .
Toshiba will next month release Qosmio F750 - also no glasses .
Does anyone know if "Naked Eye 3D" is planned for the G74SX too ?
Someone commented in one of these forums some time ago , that this may be next year , and also had a negative opinion of it . However , things change fast in this field - and along with the Toshiba announcement , this may already be different .

I haven't heard any further updates to that "Naked eye 3d" on the G74 yet. If it is successful with the G53, it will not surprise me to see it ported over quickly.

dont expect to see any naked eye 3d models until years from now. Nakes eye 3d tvs are still insanely expensive to make and laptops will be no different. asus will likely be first but i doubt you will see any naked eye 3d products that dont cost a fortune until 2012 and that is optimistic

    Last part :
The Toshiba Qosmio F750 3D will be available in the UK for $2,080.06 ($2100) starting August 2011, and should be available here in the States sometime shortly thereafter. Stay tuned for an actual price and launch date.

i saw the article though i can not say that is true or not. i can only say there are alot of obstacles making these displays mostly dealing with cost. why would it be first released in the uk not the us?

and toshiba? sorry but the creator and maker of the worst blunders in history is claiming something? HD-DVD! need i say more? Call me sceptical but toshiba is last on my list for pioneering anything great. when it comes to innovation asus is always first by a mile.
