Hey guys, I've run into a serious problem and am hoping you can help me out here with my G74SX.

Long story short... I decided to perform a system restore. I created the restore disc's, followed the steps and the it completed the process. Or it appears to have done so.

    1. The HDD was formatted, but not into a single partition as I wanted when I selected the option.
    2. It stated that it had restored the factory defaults.
    3. Process is completed and it boots to Win7.

It certainly restored Windows but with the bare minimum. It appears that the default restore didn't install any of the basic drivers i.e. network adapter, display driver, the USB drivers, and I'm certain a great deal more. Also, none of the default Asus software was installed such as overclocking, control deck etc etc.

Needless to say I'm pissed off. I've owned many G series laptops over the years and have done many restores, but I've never run into this issue where the system is reduced to a friggin' paperweight .

Thanks for any help you can provide.

That's not a system restore. Sound like restored a backup/re-imaged the drive. Two different things.
