Trying to install a ssd in my g73jh. Inserted the 3 recovery disk one at a time and after 37 minutes the message said the recovery was a success and then the next screen came up said insert media disk just like it did when I first started. Does this mean that windows 7 didn’t recognize the ssd and if that’s the case what is the next step.
    Thanks for the help

I tried the Recovery Disk thing, and it left me with a black prompt and no text. I just popped in the Windows 7 disc and reinstalled. Is your SSD in the same location as where your old HDD was?

Put the SSD in the bay that sits in the middle of the laptop, the one where your OS drive was and do yourself a favor: clean install.

Grab the windows iso here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html and use the key on the sticker under your laptop.

You can get the drivers and utilities here: http://www.asusrog.com/forums/showthread.php?1150-G73-74-53-Series-Driver-and-Application-Reference

Asus bloatware and utilities guide here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/380681-asus-utility-bloatware-guide.html.

What you absolutely need from Asus: ATK package, that is all. You'll probably want the wireless console, keyboard filter and power4gear.
