Hmm. Tried removing it and searching for new driver via windows update? (I know the search online for driver is disabled by default in W7) <- In the looking for new driver dialog when it first detects new hardware..

I tried :). It just tells me some default AHCI driver from 2006 is up to date... That online search is really useless, never finds anything...

And you tried the latest Intel INF update utility from the Intel site direct... Hmmm. Those drivers can be a goofy bunch.

The latest INF update on the intel site.
    INF for 5 Series

Also the slightly older 0019 inf in zip format could possibly be used to force install the driver you want. :/

Seams i already had the latest inf installed...
Ah forget it, ill just use the latest driver from Intel Rapid Storage. The difference isnt that earthshattering anyway i guess... Should be playing SC2 instead of wasting my time with this :D.
Thanks for the effort though. :)

You've got to force install any new chipset drivers, too. It's an intel thing, apparently if you have working chipset drivers, they don't want you to change a thing.
