Hey guys, got my fresh install of Windows 7 64 up on my new SSD. However I have been running into issues. I cannot install the intel turbo driver or monitor. I believe this is because I need the power4gear installed but cannot find it anywhere on ASUS page to download? I also have ran into many programs saying the machine does nto meet spec to install? Anyone have a link to the driver disk for the G73?

Well I found power4gear, installed it and I still cant get the damn turbo boost drivers to work. It keeps giving me the message "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software". Oddly I get a similar message when trying to install photoshop. Not sure where to go from here, please help... :(

You need to use the version on your Drivers Disc that came with your machine, or in my 3rd sig Software section

Chastity, Im taking your advice and downloading the drivers disk from your link. However I am somewhat baffled as to why that would work over then just downloading the drivers from Asus as I have been doing already?

3 hours to complete the download.....

THERE IS NO TURBO BOOST DRIVER FOR THE i7. TURBO BOOST CANNOT BE ENABLED OR DISABLED.

Turbo boost is a feature of the Nehalem family, no drivers needed.

The only software available is a Turbo Boost MONITOR, which just allows you to see graphically the turbo boost at work. It's purely just a Windows 7 Gadget.

I fully understand that. However something is making my fresh install not work right. All of my programs are saying the machine does not meet spec which is nuts. I am hoping that if I just use the factory driver disk it will fix whatever is going on....

Even the turbo boost widget wont install due to the machine not meeting spec. I mean my 1991 486dx would be enough to run that widget. I am still baffled....

Hmm I wonder if it has something to do with your SSD install.

Actually, there is an Intel Turbo Boost Driver package. You need that installed for the gadget to function.

Also, you need to use the CD version since you need the install script on it to perform the install properly. You just can't run it straight, it requires some parameters to work. This drove me nuts when I did my fresh install, until I figured it out.

Sorry about the speeds, it's my Webhost I guess. ;)

I simply cannot believe it. The driver disk worked! So lets clarify this; In order to install a new hard drive that is a different size then stock you must have the factory driver disk which no longer comes with the machine. That is utter BS....

On a side note everything seems to be working good now. Out of curiosity I tried to load the turbo boost driver again (From ASUS site) and it still tells me not enough resources even though the driver disk install went off perfectly.

Ive got another couple weeks to play with this thing and decide if im going to keep it. 3 days to install an SSD and fresh Windows is rediculous, we shall see......

Took me an hour to do an SSD install and fresh Windows. I had the drivers disk, but I doubt that's the only way to get the drivers. There is a driver out on their site that's the wrong one for our G73 as I ran into that too, but I think you're exaggerating a bit if you suggest that 3 days is standard.

The first 2 day was trying to get the factory backup disks that I burned to copy to the SSD. That was impossible. So I had to download a copy of windows 7 and do a fresh install. Then the drivers wouldnt work right even though I downloaded them straight through asus. Then i had to get the drivers disk downloaded and install that. Granted if I knew all this up fron it would have only taken half a day, but the learning curve was steep. And I still cant get photoshop CS3 to install....
