Just looking to see if you guys can give me advice on what adaptor (Power cable?) to get. The one on my laptop broke, and I'm mooching a friend's for now. If anyone could point me in the direction of a good cable, I'd much appreciate it.

You mean the power brick broke or simply a cable. If you need a new adapter, the targus APA05US is a good substitute. It runs cooler than the one from Asus too since it's rated at 180W instead of 150W.

Thanks! I'd heard about the targus APA05US before, so a second opinion just confirmed it for me, thanks.

Would we see a benifit with a 180W power supply?

Or could the power supply just run cooler?

THe one that comes with these laptop runs hot enough to cook food on it..

^^^ Hrogi I hear that, I use it as a toe warmer in the winter!! From what I read, if you are an overclocker it is a great idea to use the 180 W power brick.

The 180W is great for OC, the stock one is a great toe warmer like JOSEA said. Glad to know i'm not the only one using it that way :D.
