hmmm talked with Asus staff here in the Philippines. They said this unit would be release by April. I just hope this is not the same laptop the asus guy from rog forums is talking about and hopefully it'll be a new machine rather.

I was excited to see an Asus refresh, but disappointed when i saw the cooling design.
Cooling design copied from very well designed Lenovo Y580. CHECK

sigh well it's now official as the next 15" rog laptop and I see nothing else coming, what a let down. Good thing after searching nonstop I found one shop here in my country selling a bnew i5 G46vw. It's their last piece and I'll be getting it in 2 weeks. Will settle for it and wait till the end of the year/early next year and update to broadwell and maxwell tandem. Hopefully there's a new updated G46 by then or maybe a 14-15" Aorus, both of them really looks great (if msi gs60 just removed the dragon logo) XD

There were a couple of production class boards on ebay for the G46 revision, they would have been quite a nice upgrade.

Should I buy G56JR or N550JK? I've heard GTX850M works really well; and N550JK is quite cheaper.

In this segment the 850/860m are king now.

    Hey Guys.............

Any idea when is it getting launched in India...........
    Am from Banglore, India !

Alienware is simply and purely over-priced..

G750 is out of my range and so eagerly waiting for G56JR...............though it carries Nvidia GTX 760 graphics card.
Any idea if it carries a 125 ssd too........?
And does it hv a 2gb/3gb GPU........?

Well what are you exactly looking for? A portable laptop or dtr? Budget? Clevo/sager have some laptops within the 13-15" range with 860m. I'm using an Alienware 17 with a 860m as a dtr and I'm very pleased with it.

    sent from my Nexus 5

Am looking out for a gaming laptop (to play all high def games with max settings on) which I can carry and which my wife can use for vidoe editing/photoshop/Animation down the line (say 1.5-2 yrs).
Budget is like within Rs 100,000/- ( $ 1650/-) and believe NVidia GTX is better than GT series graphics card for gaming purpose.

And dude I am from Banglore, India...........as a matter of fact Clevo/MSI/Razor Blade are not available here.

Am considering Lenovo Ideapad y510p (SLI version) and pls clarify if 4gb (2gb+2gb Ultrabay) GT series is better than Asus g56jr 3gb GTX 760 ?

I am now in a fix as Asus g56jr is yet to launch in India & Lenovo Ideapad SLI version need to get it from Dubai through a friend !

    Pls suggest !

G550JK looks like the N550JK but black. Same specs including the GPU too.

Yep looks like they are just doing the same thing to the refresh standard models and changing up the colour scheme.

Yep, that's what I'm waiting for. I don't mind waiting another year though if that means a real ROG G47 with a 960m, and 1080p ips display.

    Hi all

I got the G56jr a few days ago. It's a nice machine and I would have liked it to have the 800m, but it suits my needs as it is. The screen is really nice and the haskwell i7 is a scream.

The only complain I have is that it suffers from the evil keystrokes missing problem!! Every few keystrokes, one is not registered. I have tryed, updating drivers, using synaptics drivers, disabling the touchpad (via software), avoid touching the touchpad while typing...

I have yet to try to disable the touchpad on BIOS, but I would, for f* sake, like to be able to use the touchpad if I need to and not need to worry to have a mouse around at all times.

BIOS version number is 200 (latest one available on asus support site is also 200).

    Anyone sharing the same problem?

    Cheers!
