1800$ for the model with an SSD 256gb
We can expect 1600$ for the model with dual HDD ! If less than 1600$ alienware and clevo wont stand against asus g750 refresh

Well the equivalent sits at around $1650 now. I'd expect them to drop in as direct replacements.

With previous replacements we see them come in at the same price the originals did. For example if the current top of the line GPU is worth, say $500, once the new top end GPU's come out they typically stayed valued at the same price, making the computers the same price. The difference you'll see is the current models may have come down a bit since initial release.

Since it's just a rebadged and flashed 780M that does not surprise me, the 870M and 860M will need some PCB work.

The 870M JS looks like a good model price wise, the gap between the 870M and 780M is not that much really. If the 870M were to overclock a little could almost match a stock 780M Thats a nice bump for the lower and mid 860M and 870M cards.

Do the new ASUS line ups except new series GPU's also come with a upgraded display or something else?
Asking this because the current g750's displays seem to have vertical lines you can see when watching closely and some may be bothered by it.

Asus is just rocking these days. Even including the baddest GPUs of all, GTX 880M, which by no means is a cool and power sipping GPU. Thats a testimony of a really good cooling system for sure. I also like that they included GTX 860M Maxwell chip for those who want a low TDP, mid-high performance GPU. Kudos Asus.

Also there is something new about the new G750 notebooks with 800M series.
    A) They feature "ASUS TurboMaster’ technology", which let you overclock the GPU. Not sure if its automatic or with the press of a hotkey.
    B) They have changed the cooling system to a more efficient one.

To OP: You should include "JM" in the thread title. G750JM is the one with Maxwell GTX 860M

A 15inch notebook with 860M is most likely under way. Asus doesnt make 14" G-series notebooks.

Has there been any word from ASUS about the HDD speeds? I'm in the market for an upgrade, but I need a 7200rpm data disk for video editing. Newegg and Amazon provide contradictory info on the JM.

Presuming the JM still comes with 2 drive bays, how hard would it be to swap out hard drives on the G750 if I've never upgraded a laptop before? Any recommendations for 7200rpm or hybrid laptop drives?

It should be fairly east to replace the HDD's, you just have to remove a screw for the back panel and a few more to remove HDD caddy, in this video you can see how accessible they are .

On a side note damn that is some major screen flex Oo .

The specs we've been provide show 5400 on the JM, but with an open bay so you can add a SSD or 7200RPM. Once they are physically here we'll be able to verify the speed of the HDD.

I wonder if the new "more efficient" cooling solution will be louder than the one on the previous gen G75VX. I like my machine, I love that it's quiet, but I am starting to think about selling and upgrading to the new generation.

It's up there for efficiency, the new copper cooler should help though make the machine a bit heavier.

    Hi all,

I've been watching G750 series since it's release and because I already need new laptop I was aiming for JX configuration with 770M but I said to myself " lets wait" And I did cause people usually get these laptops for christmas and then, in a few months, throw them away cheaper.

And here it is. I got offer on JX for little bit under 1400$. I thought about it a lot and found that 770M is quite overclockable. But unfortunately new configs are coming and I dont really know if I should wait or go for that JX.

Some local shops (I am from Europe) shown price for JZ and it is starting around 1300€ which was almost starting price of JX in my country. I just dont believe it. We also get poorest configs with low ram (6,8 GB) and SSD only for highest models (JH) so there is not much to choose from.

So guys, I need advice or encouragement on this one. Is it worthy to wait, performance-wise, or should I go with JX? I never owned G before but I have ASUS laptop now and I am very pleased with performance and overall quality. Also we have local service behind my house. I just want to play big sand box games like Watch dogs or so in high quality and according to videos 770M is great.

Sorry for little bit OT. Here at least prices from US Amazon for new models

I guess it depends for how long do you intend to keep it and what games you like to play. I have a less than one year old G75VX which has sort of a mid level graphics card and it can still play just fine all the latest games. It's true that not all of them at full details but fine enough to play. However, being a gaming machine, I wanted to get the best graphics card but Asus couldn't be bothered to put it in the G75.

I like the specs of the new models. I am thinking of upgrading to the 750 (w/ 880m) or maybe wait for one more generation skip and see something even more powerful in the near future...

In short..I bought almost 3 years ago Asus N52 with HD 5730, 4GB RAM and AMD P920. This cost me around 700$. I didn't want to go for 1500$ laptop(new G73 was hit in that time) BUT I was amazed by performance of my cheap laptop. I could play 90% of games first year and half on high or ultra. And even today games like COD Ghosts, Batman Origins on high.

I want to go for bigger screen this time but I dont have any experience with full HD res and it's impact on performance after years. This is maybe question for somenone with G73 or similar and how can this hardware perform on new games today.

But to answer question..I intend to keep it at least 2-3 years and I play all type of games. RTS, MMO, high demanding FPS and so on. But I guess this type of laptop is easier to sell even after 2 years for a good price which is my intention. Then add little bit money and buy new one.

You have to disassemble the laptop, there is a lot of videos in the net :)
By the way I saw that the 750JZ can go to 6h33min @ 40% Brightness using wifi ! the 8 cells with optimus is doing a very very good job !

The previous models didnt which drew a lot of people to those specifically because of that. With these they have included Optimus. Asus does include a 1yr Global warranty and India is covered.

That slipped my mind we just added those. You can add those up to 60days of the ship date. It does only cover stock parts, it wont cover all upgraded parts selected on our configuration page. Those parts are covered for 1y and are US only. If you do have a problem with any upgraded parts you can send just that part back instead of the whole computer to save on shipping costs. We are in the works on getting 3-4yr Global OEM warranties included as well.

Would it be possible for you to add this laptop listing on your amazon store with an option to choose extended global warranty ?

That's Awesome ! No Doubt Xotic PC is the best place to get custom made PC's in the US :D :D

Until when will you be able to add 3-4 yr Global OEM warranty for Asus ?

    I saw this -

3 Year ASUS GLOBAL OEM Warranty 24/7 Support / 1 Year N.A. Accidental Coverage (Accidental Requires Registration) (SKU - WTY022)

here - Reviews: 3 Year ASUS GLOBAL Warranty, 24/7 Technical Support, 1 Year Accidental Damage CoCustom Laptops, Gaming Notebooks, Custom Gaming Laptops | XOTIC PC

But do not see this as an option while trying to customize my G750 .
