Supposedly this doesn't add any additional improvements, but it's an updated unified driver. Hopefully fixes the crashing I'm having with RAGE.
Keeping my fingers crossed and I'll update the post with my experiences.

AND SUCCESS!!!
The Mutant Bash TV loading screen crash did not occur with the updated driver. Hopefully this resolves all of the crashing I experienced with the previous drivers.
The new driver seems to still have quite a bit of flickering NPCs although it states that it's supposed to fix that, but I can live with that.
After playing for the last 2 hours, I can say with a pretty high amount of confidence that they've resolved all of the load screen crashes to desktop.
I'm pretty happy with this driver. Yes I still have some minor visual issues, but it's so much better than it was. Also, I have removed any RAGE config files or anything else and my texture pop is very very minimal. -
I can confirm, I was getting 12 fps now getting 60 fps
-
solid 60FPS! Now, lets see what the game is like!

I have G73JH and installing this driver gave me a BSOD, please help

DOH.....Still the same on mine as the 11.10 rev1 driver which seemed terrible.
Do i have to... for example... firstly install 11.9 or similar drivers then install these over the top?
Or remove the Old drivers and start afresh as the AMD support page states?(I have done it this way and even re-installed the game afterwards & i have no changes concerning tearing and poor texture popping).
My 5870m and i7-740 cant handle this game otherwise. LOL -
The new drivers don't resolve all flickering/texture pop issues, but it appears to improve frame rate and resolves the crash to desktop issue that the older RAGE performance driver caused.
I just completed the game, so I can say for sure the new driver works, since prior I could not get past Mutant Bash TV and was crashing to desktop about 50% of the time when the screen would go to load an area.
I just ran the driver update directly over my previous driver install and rebooted on completion.
Hope this helps. If you still have poor performance, I'd recommend lowering or disabling Anti Aliasing although that probably won't make too much of a difference.
As far as game performance, I ran at 1600x900 with 8x AA and decent framerate and minimally annoying texture popping. -
Guys any1 here using ati catalyst 11.10 preview version 2 on asus g73jh ? any better performance and howz da compatibility ??
Thank u -
That's the one linked in this thread... And yes, performance in RAGE is decent and the crashes to desktop have been fixed.
-
I just installed Rage and it gives me an OpenGL error, although i have AMD Catalyst 11.9 never tried installing 11.10 Preview v2.
Have you guys tried any other games with this driver? Is there a release date for the final 11.10 drivers?
And another question do you guys know how to fix the Catalyst control center, cause mine somehow died when I updated from a very old stock driver (came with my G73-J) to 11.9 and now I cant access the Catalyst control center, although the VGA driver is installed. -
I had that OpenGL error when launching RAGE until/after I installed the new driver and rebooted.
Install the drivers in this thread and reboot and you should be ok.
Also, if you aren't running these drivers I'm not sure if you'll be able to play without crashing. I had crashes to desktop with the initial RAGE drivers which these fixed. -
Hmm I installed the driver after i installed the game as lots of ppl were saying that the texture bug was bad. Game look OK with the ati driver but is realy slow. If i make a 90 or 180 turn everything is all blured
and takes time get in full detail. The FPS is a solid 60FPS as most are reporting.

Bethesda/ID released on the Steam version the Patch 1 for Rage. With this Patch you get a few graphic options in the game. I suggest to install it (as it also fixes several crashes) and afterwards go into the option and switch the textures buffer to large. My G73JH can easely manage this.
Also delete any custom config files that might have previously created.
The game still crashed on me, after some 30 minutes of gameplay, thoughAnd yes, I have the ATI Hotfix 2 installed.
-
Played some additional 30 mins yesterday and seemed quite smooth. I don't see the FPS though.
@Bladezero
What graphical options have you set in the game? -
Will need to check this evening again how it feels. I know there was little stutter while clearing the first "dungeon", but little enough to not disturb me or the gameplay.

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
My gtx460m handles it maxed out, 4xAA, with 16k textures, vsynched and triple buffered, 1080p.
I know the myth of nvidia having a solid OpenGL support, but i wouldnt imagine it being SO solid.
I can post my rageconfig.cfg if you want, maybe its worth a try. -
Its been 60fps solid for me as long as I keep AA off which is pretty useless in this game anyway so I wouldn't say its 'so bad' on ATI at all considering the problems the game itself has, not to mention OpenGL is so out of date, too slow and should be left in the stone age where it belongs with PhysX.
@Blade just turn AA off and turn on Triple buffering in CCC and you wont see the dip. -
Might be an idea to start from scratch bin your drivers and start again and test out different settings in the config and see if that helps. I personally think over 30-40fps is fine but I am old skool I used to think the Voodoo 3000 AGP was the dogs until I decided 5fps was not good enough to game to haha! -
@Blade
How do you measure FPS?
Have you tried with disabled AV scanner?
Hadn't time yesterday to test. My settings are 1080p, 2xAA, no anisotropic and Vsync on this special new setting.
