When I power it on, sometimes it gets stuck or "freezes" on a black screen after the Asus logo is done displaying... Sometimes it freezes at the Windows 7 logo screen, and sometimes when it gets to the log-in screen, I can type my password but the Enter button doesn't work. The cursor works at the log-in screen and I can click on the Log-in arrow, but nothing happens. I have to hold the power button down to shut it down, and have to repeat doing this about 2 or 3 times before it will boot up and let me log in properly..

There was also an issue of the Fn key not working properly but I downloaded a driver from the Asus support website and that fixed it.

Is this some kind of driver I'm supposed to download to fix this booting-up issue?

    Thanks

If this is a brand new machine and you haven't added much stuff or customize it yet, I'd suggest a factory restore. Get it back to its out-of-the-box condition and see whether it still has this freezing issue. If it doesn't, you can be confident it was just some messed up software.

A less aggressive alternative would be to do a system restore, back to a point before this behavior started.
