Sorry for starting a new thread, searches didn't turn up anything.

So, I've bought a new Asus G73JH, and as it comes with Win7 home, needed to upgrade to Ultimate (need to connect to domain, etc).

I've done a clean install (twice now) of Win7 ultimate, and cannot get the wireless to connect to any networks. It can see them, and will let me enter the key, but fails to connect. The windows troubleshooter (of course) comes up with nothing.

I've installed the drivers that came on the Asus disc, along with the driver that windows chose for me, and both have the same effect. Using the Asus wireless console has no effect either.

It can connect to the same router using ethernet cable, and my other laptop (a sony vaio AR21S) connects to the wireless with no issues.

I'm at a bit of a dead-end - anyone got any ideas? Is it likely to be a duff unit?

No chance you have MAC filtering on and forgot to add the MAC address of your G73, is there?

Nope, MAC filtering isn't on. One of the first things i checked. The dhcp scope is wide enough, there are free addresses, DNS and everything is ok. Doesn't even work if i manually set the ip config, so i guess it's an authentication issue.

Ah, sorted it. Changed the router to only accept AES authentication.
