I highly doubt that the catalyst GSODs is fixed by this.

yip, a beautifull BlackSOD with 10.7 and 211.

Now in BIOS shows "VBIOS Version 012.017.000.004.0359.A33G" I dont know if the 209 bios had this info

Updating the BIOS does not update the vBIOS. It's a separate update.

Its the exact same vbios. The leaked one also could be flashed with ezflash (not the corrupt 4mb version but the real one). And the only change is the fans settings, but unlike what you quoted it actually makes the fan go full blast sooner (at 79C, where previously it would do that at 84C) and also makes it louder at idle. A stupid decision if you ask me since it doesnt do squat to lower temperatures.

So the G73, that every review says has the best cooling ever, has heat problems?

Its cooling is far from good. Its silenter than others but does a bad job at keeping the components cool, since it has small crappy aluminium heatsinks. That combined with some unlucky users who also got a crappy TIM application makes them overheat and the ones with a good TIM application run much hotter than the other laptops with the same hardware. If youre looking for good cooling, Clevo has the best cooling systems in laptops on the planet - large copper heatsinks that can keep any gpu cool no matter how much torture you put it through.

Give it some time, and yours will too. The stock paste will spread and pool at the edges.

Partially correct. The aluminum part is for the memory chips and the outer components. The GPU portion itself is copper, as is the heatpipe to the fan fins.

I have changed the Thermal paste to my poor g1s, in the g73 is more easy :D.

I think that g73 cooling system is very good...The problem is that ASUS put spittle where the paste should be. :D

Changing Paste in g1s drops the gpu temp 8-9 degrees

There is so little copper im surprised it can dissipate as much heat as it does... The heatsinks on Clevos are the real deal, they are much larger, thicker and made entirely from copper, they also dont use such heatpipes, but rather have the heatsink and fan in one piece. And the screws on these Asus heatsinks are a joke. You cant get decent pressure since you cant tighten them down as much as youd want. The Clevos cooling system is just much better, thats a fact.

You really think changing paste on the G73JH is easy?
You have to take the whole laptop apart! With a Clevo/AW/MSI you have the easy access just by removing the bottom access panel. Repasting this laptop is by no means easy compared to other high performance laptops. Its time consuming and a pain in the rear.
