    Hello all!

Just bought the G73JH from Best Buy for my girlfriend who is an aspiring WoW player (yay me!)

After loading it up, I promptly did a clean install and loaded the necessary drivers per another thread.

My only complaint on the G73JH is the screen lighting - more specifically on a black background. It appears that some areas have brighter lighting and in other areas seem there's less lighting.

I use an Alienware M17x-r2 as my primary computer and can recognize a distinct difference between the two. I do understand that the screen I have is better quality and better resolution than the G73JH but my concern is that I got a lemon and that the lighting is not normal.

Is this normal? If it is, if I were to install an upgrade to the screen could I still have the lighting issues? I've read previous threads and didnt see anything specifically regarding lighting on the stock screen.

Appreciate any input on this...thank you!

You can upgrade the screen to wuxga

screencountry carries the lg wuxga panel for 100$

best buy carried two screens one was very good and one was not. they were both 1600 x 900 though

I read about upgrading it and it sounds good.

My only question is would a screen upgrade fix my lighting inconsistencies?

Sorry, ive never messed with laptop screens so I dont know how they work

yes it would replace every part of the screen the backlight as well

providing the new screen didnt have the same inconsistancies

screen country carries the lg wuxga screen

I have heard the auo wuxga screen is better I dont have a source for it for 100 its 150.

And for what it matters the lg 1600 x 900 screen would fix your problem as well and screen country carries that for 70$.

I bet you can find that one used on ebay for cheaper as a lot of g73 owners upgrade.

get a utility for showing your screen manufacturer like everest.

make sure its the same auo screen that everyone here didnt like.

I personally have a bb model with a great lg screen.

Just make sure that its the screen at fault is how id say it
