Always due to Asus hardware. And probably as to why no one said anything is everyone is wondering why you didn't wait a month or wso for the new G75 to come out. The 560m is not much better that the 5870m compared to the upgrade you would get with the new 670m. O well to each there own. I hope it was a great deal.

It will defenetly take more than a month for G75 to come out. Will be good if we see it by summer at all since neither Ivy Bridge nor Kepler is released yet. And both Intel and Nvidia seem to be delaying their releases.

And a 560m with 900/1800/1600 (gotta love nvidia inspector) overclock plus a SB Core i7 2630qm seem to be handling everything i throw at it (with reasonable configs, e.g. no maxed out Metro 2033 which even on desktops still needs a luxury powerhouse)

PS: Why would anyone be bothered with trackpad on a gaming laptop. Get a wireless mouse like G700 with a small receiver and forget about using the tp.

The popping noise is fixed by a reg tweak. Somewhere on this forum was a topic about with a ready registry tweak available for download.

I'd immediately flash the BIOS assuming yours is the stock 2.01. When I first got the laptop I had a whole mess of keyboard issues that were fixed with an update.

Mine came with 202 Bios out of the box (And my guess is the series with 2670qm comes with 203 Bios already).

Same here Bios 202 out of the box. Do I really need the ThrottleStop so far games like Alan Wake, Fallout 3 run fine downloading BF3 right now. Also the cpus in the G&4 are second generation chips right?

Yes, it's second generation, but first ones didnt have that problem, only sandy bride CPUs . And it's not with all games, just certain games it seems and at certain loads.

It might not be a problem for the games you play at all. But basically ThrottleStop is only needed to run once during start-up and does not need to be running all the time. (mine is set to close itself in 1 sec after it's started up automatically via the config)
