Just received my brand new G751JY and some keys on the keyboard are not working. Rebooted and currently running a factory reset to see if that works. Afterwards I'll try to uninstall the keyboard driver and restart the laptop to see if it works. Worst comes to worst, I'll just speak to Newegg to get a replacement.

Anyone have any alternative fixes or similar issues? I'm thinking it may be a hardware issue since it's brand new.

It's likely the cable is not quite in right to the motherboard. You could try a usb dos boot disk to test the keyboard.

Thank you for your response Meaker. I did notice as I played around with my ethernet and my AC adapter plug, some of the keys started working, but that was short lived. It was extremely erratic. I can try playing around with it.

I'm also not sure what a usb dos boot disk is so I'll google it up.

It's a usb stick that has dos on it basically. Great for bios updating and testing in a mostly driverless environment.

That's a clear warranty reason. Sent it in to get it fixed or even replaced.

Yes it most likely is a return.

Return it.. Don't get it sent in for RMA... Return and get a new one.. You shouldn't be having problems out of the box like this..

I agree. You have failed in the ASUS lottery. Return it and try again.

Return them and keep trying til you get one that works flawlessly. Then, you will have gotten one of the best laptops around (price/performance/build quality).

That's ASUS for you - poor quality control. If you get one of their laptops without any faults, its fantastic. Otherwise, you're stuck with their poor RMA/Warranty service.

The advantage of a reseller over the store is you get two sets of people (Manufacturer and reseller) testing the machine before it goes out to you :)

In the UK you have a right to expect a fast turn around replacement for DOA so I would go for that too if I were you.
