How many of them have the current bios? The drivers have been rock solid for me(latest official bios). I raided last night between 7pm -1:30pm of straight gaming.
I hated the menu option in the Catalyst but turning on the advanced options cleaned it up. For the basic option it was very scattered.
-
they have been rock solid for me too...playing dead space 2 with them and it plays flawless...
...I bet some dont have the vbios fix yet...
-
I just installed 'em. Played a few minutes of BFBC2, no problems there. Seems good so far.
-
i changed values in regedit with the linked file and check manually the values of the keys, but still not present morphological AA...
-
drivers working perfect since 11.1a
actually maybe they use the same driver as in 11.1 -
Got these installed, performance seems a tiny bit better than 10.8 and time will tell for stability. I noticed that the windows startup screen doesn't flicker anymore, and that my temps are up in bc2 by about 3c.
-
I'm using 10.8 as well but mine doesn't flicker (or at least I don't notice it).
Can't wait to test this out. I'll probably install it after I do all my homework
-
I can go 40/85 but any more then one window open at a time, moving them becomes laggy lol
So youve gone as low as 200/300 and any more crashes? For a while I thought the lowest I could go was 250/400 as any thing lower by 10-50mhz would lock up my system. One day I just decided to jump (drop) to 100/100 and it was rock solid, kept going lower till I hit 40/85 (40/80 gives epic screen tearing and artifacts)...since then ive decided to stick with 70/100 (ran furmark at those clocks and it was solid lol).
Your clocks enter 3d mode when you go fullscreen? Strange, mine will stay at w/e the current powerplay is at, so if its high performance it will be 405/1000, if its battery saver its 70/100, changing between windowed and full screen doesnt do anything. No UVD clocks and regardless of the p4g/powerplay mode the visual quality seems to remain the same, furthering my belief that my CPU is doing the work now. (EDIT: was just showing my friend the new 2011 charger commercial, and it activated my UVD clocks everytime regardless of the set video resolution lmao idk whats going on)
Still no word on why that is?
Anyways back on topic lol as far as gaming goes, this driver have solved my odd/random freezing/buggy issues in some games, i'm a happy camper

Hope this isn't already posted here, apologies if it is.

Enjoy!
EDIT: Bummer, already posted. Wasn't on the first page when I looked and thought it would at least be a hot topic. Anyway hope there is something someone can use. -
11.2 is the best version I've ever tried. FIFA 2011 run very smooth on native res 1920x1080 with 2xMSAA and 2xAF (a little bit lag in some scenes using previous version using same settings).
But the Morphological filtering is still not good. I have to switch to 1280x720 to achieve almost same framerate (I get lower, in fact). Honestly, for most games, it's (still) ugly and too expensive --in terms of fps-- to achieve. I think that's why AMD haven't put this option on by default. (I got the option after mod the registry too).
But I'm curious really, is it good on desktop version of Radeon? -
iman like someone said here in this thread that filter is game dependent...
i've heard that deadspace 2 is very good with the morphological filter but too late
-
ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
lets try this out. -
I've been running them for a couple days, no issues at all. Rift and Dead Space 2 are working great.
-
After going over to the new driver i have seen a realy bad drop in some games like Wow and Wot( World of tanks) Had everything maxed before and got Wow about 30-40 at avarage and Wot at 25-35. After update im getting wow about 20-30 and wot needs to be put on high setings as maxed i get 14-20
Other games work good Dead space 2 got no problems. Even crysis works like before. Will take a look at some other multiplayer games to see if its a internet problem .......but still strange it would happon right after the intall of the driver. -
Hmm i think the only big change of this new graphic driver is the customization of the tesselation level. Untick AMD optimation in CCC and set the tesselation level to lowest. Maybe that could help.

Holy!!.......
Just installed latest drivers (had ver 10.8) and damn, my temps are much better. I'm watching a 1080p video at only 53c compared to its origonal 61+
what did they do
edit - I mean dude, my idle temps are suppose to be 58c, now I'm getting 53c off a HD video. Wow, go amd.
I'm thinking its cause they improved powerplay. playing 1080p no longer shoots my clock to 700 but it stays at 405. It feels like the colors are better during playback, and there are a lot more settings to adjust.
anyone tried the override lcd setting yet? -
I heard your temps are the same they just changed which sensor they use to tell you what they are. This makes it look like they are lower than they actually are. At least thats what I gathered from all the other posts a few weeks back. For example furmark used to be 83C on my G73, but after updating to 11.1 (and 11.2) from 10.8, my temp is 79C, but my memory temp is still 83C. So nothing really changed.
-
are u sure? thats confusing. so which temps are true then?

You should consider using HWiNFO32 tool so that you can keep track of the 3 GPU temperature. The maximimum value among the three, is the one you should consider the GPU temperature. -
They're both true temps. One reads MemIO the other Core.
-
Coming from 10.8 > 11.2 myself I didn't see a temp change at idle, like I said a couple pages back if anything my load temp in certain games (bc2) increased, and in exchange I got slightly better performance.
-
ah I see. But honestly I rather have a gadget that displays the highest temps.
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_.../AAAAAAAAAYM/1UHOmK9uqWI/s1152/My_Desktop.jpg
know any other gadgets that monitors gpu temps?
edit - fan speed on the gadget isn't right either... man, the one I have sucks. -
hwinfo32 has a gadget that works well with the monitor, though it's kind of ugly
-
Well, you got GPU-Z, HWiNFO32, AMD GPU Clock Tool, MSI Afterburner (only shows the DispIO though, which is lower than the MemIO)..
-
k thx. also, I descovered something...
does anyone use Jdownloader? After installing the latest driver, jdownloader looks like crap, basically unable to navigate though it anymore
-
I do, but it looks fine to me. Try changing its UI to Windows Style. Its less resource intensive anyhow.
-
the user inteface right? thats a problem lol, I mean, its SO BAD, that Its impossible for me to navigate through the options. I'm thinknig about uninstalling my drivers first, changing settings, then install it again.... in time.
edit - found the soulution.

Heat is to be expected since more work is being done.
