It looks like all these laptops can take the latest NVMe standard according to the official specs. I like these laptops and am really considering the GL753VE, but at $1699 in Canada they are grossly overpriced IMO. I've seen the GL702VM with SSD at that price on sale and that has a GTX 1060 and thunderbolt 3.

If the price goes down to around $1400 I will look at it again or just wait and see how the Lenovo Y720 is priced. The Dell 7567 is disqualified for me due to the limited port selection and terrible screen.

    I bought the GL753VD from Amazon for USD1,049: https://www.amazon.com/GL753VD-Gaming-i7-7700HQ-7200RPM-Keyboard/dp/B01MQYO6QQ.

I bought the version that only comes with an HDD, so will need to install my own SSD. One thing I'm not sure about though, is is it an M2 SSD or an PCIE Gen3X4 SSD as per the Asus website.

Edit, found the answer in the manual: "The M.2 2280 slot supuports both PCIe (NVMe) SSD and SATA SSD".
