Has anyone downloaded the latest driver released last week and run benchmarking software?

I have heard that with the new drivers the 460m is now greatly outperforming the 5870 any confirmation on this?

lol where'd you hear that, the nvidia press release? At release, the 5870m was 5-10% faster, now that the drivers are mature, they're probably on par.

Actually from a user review on Amazon... not anything official which is why I asked here. I figured at a minimum this would trigger some of our zealous testers to redo some benchmarks and see how things shape up now with mature drivers.

    LOL good point.

If you look at the cards, they're within ~5% of each other. Which means that functionally, they're the same in almost every situation. Do you know the difference between an ATI x1600 and an x1900? 700 points in 3dmark06. Price difference? $400 at release.

The difference between the 460 and 5870? ... about 50.

Oh, and if you want to feel really bad about buying a laptop right now, check out the ATI 6970m. Same power envelope as the 5870m ... 5000 more points in 3dmark06. (13k vs 18k).

EDIT: Nope, 2x power draw. Well, that makes me feel a little better. *sigh*

I'm running the new drivers, 266.58 and the scores in the sig are with those drivers.
I also started a thread regarding 3d Mark 11 where you can find some results.
5870m from the G73jh is still faster than 460m... at least in 3d Mard :)
