I noticed on the g73sw forum that they are reporting the blue led bar gone? Huh? Can someone confirm that?

On XoticPC, the customization page still indicates that the G73SW-A1 has the same blue LED bar below the LCD screen.

I've watched a video on Youtube and found out that the base plate below G73SW-A1 has more grills than the JH :( Can I avail that part already at the Asuspartseu? :)

Oh. I've noticed in the video that there's no blue light coming from the bottom of the screen. I think it's true. That they have taken off the blue led bar for g73sw's.

I would like to chime in with the useless comment that I am a blue light bar hater. There is no support group for us. I have checked. I keep mine turned off but sometimes it resets and will be on when I boot for some inexplicable reason. It knows I hate it. I have told it so.

    Good riddance.

You may have a look on the connector marked with the red circle.
I think this is for LCD bar light.
    This is a JH.

Aside from removing the keyboard, getting to the part where you can see the connector is rather easy. You don't have to remove the mobo or anything. Just be careful at the keyboard and with the ribbon and speaker cables under the keyboard. All you need is a phillips screwdriver of the right size and a pair of tweezers. Make sure to identify which screw goes where.

That blue bar is so useless, I rather they make it so there are LEDs in the vents. No one ever notices the blue bar until I put it to sleepmode. The only time I do that is when I move from one class to another.

Try updating your bios to 213, I did not realized my machine did not had the light until I updated my Bios and puff! the light was there o.o it looks very impressive on a low light ambient =p~ if you do not like it, just turn it off.

    Enjoy!

He has the SW, so latest bios is 205. But considering no SW model as of yet has come with it working. It's safe to assume Asus simply decided to take it out.

All the SW's we had at PAX had working Blue bars, so I don't know what's going on here. You can try cycling through with the Light button until it comes on.

Its already been confirmed as I've seen a post from a gentech or xotic person saying none of the units they have had a blue light either.

Also on the Asus official site for the SW, in the official pics there is no blue bar light, ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks- ASUS G73SW

Where as for the JH and JW models on the official pics there is. ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Notebooks- ASUS G73Jw

So its pretty clear to me that it wasnt meant to have the blue light. Of course, I guess it is weird they left the blue film stuff on it, however clearly there is no LEDs inside.

It would be great if someone could open up their SW and check if the lights are there, or at least if the connector is there. Maybe it's just a BIOS bug. I doubt that LED bar was expensive enough to bother not including it.

On the G51J to G51Jx transition, the bottom light bar on the lid was not lit, but it was still there. So maybe it's the same this time for the G73Jw to SW with the light under the screen.

Has anyone confirmed if the lighting is there on the SW, i know it doesn't work but is it just a bios thing or have they removed the actual lightbar?

I noticed there was a blue led light under the screen, but it never comes on, and I was wondering if anyone knew why and or how to turn it on/activate it.

    Thanks in advance!!!!
