    Hi All,

    I know my G73jh has 2 physical 500GB Hard Drives. They are marked as follows:

    (c: ) os 116 GB
    (d: ) sdata1 232 GB
    (e: ) data 329 GB
    (f: ) sdata2 232 GB

    Is it ok to assume that c & e are on the same physical drive and likewise for d & f ? Or, is c & d on one drive and e & f on the second drive? I also would like to know which drive has the restoration partition as I cannot see it on any drive. I am interested in swapping the c drive for an ssd and would like to keep or backup the restore partitions data.

    Hello,

    To find out exactly which "Letter" belongs to which Drive>
    Click Start> Right Click on "Computer"> Click on Manage>
    In Computer Manager> Click Disk Management>
    Here you will see Disk 0 and all the "Drive Letters" associated with that physical Hard Drive - You should also see Disk 1 and all the "Drive Letters" associated with that physical Hard Drive -

    No need to make assumptions - this will give you all the info you need to make the appropriate backups!!!

    Thank you Travelor for the fast response! This was exactly what I was looking for. Would the 19.53 GB primary partition that is cross hatched out on drive 0 be where the restore data is stored?

    Ryan.C - You're absolutely correct - That is the "Factory Restore" partition. If you got or made the restore discs then it is not necessary for you to maintain (keep) that partition.

    But he should keep it anyway. That way someone won't have to upload a full set when the disks get lost or damaged.

    Cheers,

    @Panzer,

    Great Advice - I completely Agree - Save ones self from the 50.00 charge to have ASUS send the disks out.
