Well I heard Creative caused a lot of issues, so I uninstalled it, but now my Asus G73 Best Buy Model won't recognize my headphones.

Anyone know how to fix this or what to do?

Are these normal 3.5mm headphone jack headphones? If so they are probably not working because "speakers" is not selected as the defaut device under Control Panel Sound Settings. Another posibility is you are plugged into the microphone input, and not the headphone output.

If they are USB headphones then either the software isn't installed or they are not selected as the defaut device.

Also Creative works fine if you use either this...

    Huh, strange.

I'm also having the same problem, but under slightly different circumstances.

About 5 months ago, I made a minor mistake and a tiny sponge came off out of nowhere during repasting process. About a week later, I discovered that my earbuds no longer work on G73. So, my natural conclusion was that the sponge was something related to the audio hardware. I rarely use headphones, so there was really no need to crack my G73 open to check if it was really the culprit.

After looking at OP's post, however, Creative might be the reason behind (I also had to install/uninstall Creative numerous times to make it work properly).
