    hi guys,
I have 259.12 so downloaded 260.99 from the Nvdia site. When I ran it I was told that it could not continue the install because it could not find compatible graphics hardware.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Most are still using the NVIDIA VERDE NOTEBOOK 260.63 BETA with good results.

Regarding 260.99, apparently there are drivers coming from asus, that will work, ASUS Updates - Official
But if you still would like to install 260.99, there might be a way, check Arrrdawg's method, there are some that have done it, link.

I just hope we don't need to get all our drivers from Asus though, its weird how the GTX460m on the G53JW does take the international drivers while the GTX460m of the G73JW don't.

thats what i just made light of in gary's post. there is something definitely something weird about that fact. makes me think something isnt right with my 460m. and it would be a hassle updating through the asus site all the time, especially since they probably will not do this for every future nvidia driver release and will at some time cut support for the g73jw updates.

Well Asus card in the past had issues with drivers though, specially GTX260m with never being able to downclock on their own with official drivers, but we had the MS update ones that work flawlessly through a lot of releases, ill be happy if i still have a source like MS updates for it.

Edit: i found the post from Ken confirming, GTX460M on G73JW and G53JW are different

I just find it a little weird from the same manufacturer and very close in releases, with almost identical specs, one installs some drivers the other don't and vice versa. Its like G53JW did get something that the G73JW didn't on the GPU, or at least that what i assume.

It is sounding like you are having the same Bios timing issue that we had on the 5870. When they gave us a Vbios update then we could use the drivers from the OEM for the video card. Before we got that we could only use the driver from ASUS , and that was not good.
I wonder if Gary can answer this and if it is the same timing issue!

Its not like the JH though, drivers do install and work fine, no BOSDs or stability issues, if you check the links above, its more like the validation isn't there, so doesn't allow to use those drivers, but the releases since the beta you have to mod them (sagers also had the issue), still if you follow the links, you will see some running those drivers, to me its more asus to work with nvidia to include what ever validates the GTX460m on the G73JW, or a bios update to have the same as the G53JW.

I just got my JW yesterday and was able to successfully install the 260.99 drivers after doing the mod/edit. No problems.

Yeah, same here. Do the mod/edit and it should install smoothly. Running great so far.
