What drivers did you have before 10.12? On my first g73, I could get higher clocks with the stock drivers. I also noticed my 5870 doesn't tolerate OC as well as it did with 10.11, Highest operational core clocks for games went down from 815 to 810.

I'd suggest trying something like 785/1050? Or does it not OC at all anymore?

Catalyst control centre, with the unlocked vbios, or ATI GPU clock tool.

There is no reason not to do it. So do it. Now. Why haven't you done it yet?

Update your VBIOS and try it, if it doesn't work then go back to the stock VBIOS.

You are asking help and Chastity is trying to. You are refusing her help for whatever reason.

If you are not on the Modded VBios she can't help you because she thinks that may be the issue. So do it, or good luck fixing it yourself. If I read correctly the GSOD occurred when you update from the original Catalyst Suite. You are on 10.12, that isn't the original one.

The vBIOS and BIOS are two different things. The vBIOS is the Video Bios of your graphics card. The BIOS is the firmware for your motherboard. You cannot update the vBIOS from the BIOS utility. You have to use the utilities that are prescribed in the GSOD Update guide.

The new vBIOS was designed to stabilize the timings for the video card so that you can use newer ATI drivers other than stock.
