OCZ Vertex 3 or Intel 510 64GB/40GB SSD for OS for G53SW?

which SSD? in one hand, the OCZ is the most powerful SSD, with problems, in the second hand, the Intel 510 Is ok, without problems...

What do you think? someone already bought the OCZ for his G53SW and tryed it? without any problems?

    Edit:

6GB ram is enough for gamer, or 8GB?
    Asus G53SW works with DDR3 1600Mhz RAM?

6GB is more than enough to game on.
I don't know what RAM is in the G53SW, but it does support 1600MHz RAM.

As for the SSD, both are very good choices. There is an issue with some Vertex 3 cause BSODs but it is only a limited amount of drives and there is a firmware update for that.

If you go for the SSD, move your libraries to the other HDD to avoid taking up space. The other "so called" tweaks aren't needed unless you want to free some space. Be sure to start from a clean install though so your windows is aligned.

EDIT: Congrats on finally getting your G53 :D.

I have a 120GB Vertex 3 in a G73SW, works fine more or less - needed a firmware update and a registry tweak to disable broken power management (not really a OCZ-only issue, had to do the same with Toshiba SSD in X500).

But if you can, get a bigger drive - not only will it last longer because of larger reserve capacity, but you'll be able to install all software (and even games) to it - 64GB is just not enough, trust me. You'd have to clean the drive regularly and uninstall whatever not needed, also some things are not really fun to move (iTunes for example).

Oh and whether to get OCZ or Intel... I wanted the fastest so I got OCZ, but the real performance is nowhere near the 550MB/s figures - and it's not there with Intel either, so I doubt it matters from a performance standpoint. Compare the prices you can get for both and just get the 100+GB drive you can afford - in contrast with HDD, it can only be a win :)

I have a 240GB Vertex 3. I've been having issues with it. I would not recommend as the last three firmware updates have not fixed issues with BSOD. Also note: this SSD worked perfectly in my m11x.

I just purchased a OCZ Vertex 3 120gb for my incoming G74sx-a1. I'll post an update when I get everything up and running est. 07/06/11.

They say the new vertex 3 with the SF -2000 based24nm MLC flash is buggy. OCZ claims it's less than two thirds of a percent of all Vertex 3/Agility 3 drives sold are affected by these BSOD problems. So i guess you have a 30% chance of getting a good SSD.

And I read somewhere Intel changed their warranty from 3-years to 5. This was a move to increase confidence from buyers to trust their new line up of 25nm products.
