Hey,
I'm wanting to dual boot on the G73JH, and was wondering whether anyone has attempted this yet, and whether it was successful or not?
I've heard that there are a few problems with the ATI drivers with Linux, and that Asus as of late haven't been very supportive with Linux.
Has anyone come across a guide with installing Linux on the G73JH, or can point me in the right direction for the correct steps I should be taking?
My second question is: If dual booting on this laptop is just to horrid to think about, has anyone had any personal experience with recent laptops that have run exceptionally with Linux on them?

Yup! It's in the sticky at the top of the forum that says "Sticky Read FirsT", under a post by ALLurGroceries, iirc.

I haven't run SuSE on the G73 but I'd imagine with a new(ish) kernel you should have little to no problems. Here's the ubuntu thread in case you haven't found it already: http://forum.notebookreview.com/linux-compatibility-software/451594-asus-rog-g73-ubuntu.html
If I can help let me know what your specific problems are. I ran Debian on the G73 but the tweaks I had to do were mostly distro independent. Good luck. -
pffft. suse and debian, close enough

Thanks for the link ALLurGroceries, that will give me a kick in the right direction. If all else fails I'll just get a cheap netbook that's more Linux friendly.

Linux, as a platform, is remarkably mature. You should be able to get it up and running on any modern computer.
