Quick background, I got my G73 a few months back and was having the dreaded GSOD when gaming. I found this forum and tried out the CLEVO and MSI vBIOS's and they stopped my GSOD, but they disabled the HDMI port.
I'd been living with that until recently when I was reading these forums and someone had posted that the fix was really to use the original Asus vBios and overclock to 705/1100. Well I've been doing that now and everything is working great!
Only thing is, I have to set the 705/1100 overclock using task scheduler at each bootup. That's fine for me but when it comes time to sell this laptop, I don't want the next owner having issues if they install a fresh Windows load.
SO, does anyone know if there is an original Asus vBios that has a working HDMI but has been modded to set the clocks to 705/1100 in the bios? That would fix me up and maybe some others too!
Thanks in advance for any info!

amd gpu clock tool will allow you to set the clocks, and there is also a way to make it automatically set up on startup there is also a modified v-bios (ziddy's i believe) that has everything perfect....
tips and tweaks for g73jh by betaflame should have how to set amd gpu clock tool on startup.... -
ie Just create a shortcut with the modified clocks and then toss it in your startup folder.

Yeah, using AMD GPU CLOCK TOOLS, setting to 705/1100, add it to the win7 startup group, That was what just I do.
Happy to say googdbye to xSOD since that... -
Thanks for the responses.
I am currently setting the clocks automatically with GPU tool on startup, but I am concerned that when I sell the laptop the new owner might reload Windows 7 from scratch and lose the clock speeds then start getting GSOD errors.
I have tried Ziddy's bios, but still had GSOD errors with that one. I need the original Asus vBIOS with ONLY the clock speeds changed. Anyone know how to do that? -
The ziddy v3 vbios IS the original stock vbios modded with a lower voltage and it unlocks the Overdrive page in the ATI CCC. With Overdrive, you can easily set a new clock setting, and it will apply whenever you start Windows.

What I need is an original vBios and the ONLY change to it is to set 705/1100 speeds so I don't need to overclock through software.
I tried Ziddy's BIOS and I get GSODs with it, but if I run the original vBios set to 705/1100 works great but I want the mods done at the BIOS level, not in software. -
Get Radeon Bios Editor (RBE) from here: RBE - Radeon BIOS editor
Load the original bios in it, edit the 3D clocks and save it. Then flash it and you're done -
From looking at the Radeon Bios Editor it seems to have fan and temperature options.
I would have a play myself, but as they say, if it 'aint broke, don't fix it! -
Nope, fan settings aren't available in the vbios unfortunately.
