Hello guys. Mga pinoy, With the room temp of 33c, what's your normal gpu temp?
-
I play with AC on so its in a room with 18-25°C. My idle temps are @ 65°C and my extreme load temps are at 80-86°C.
-
My gpu idles at 60°C
Went to max so far during 3dMark 06 and Vantage consecutive runs - 84°C -
Long live pinoys.
-
Arrgh, the pinoys!
Used to play Silkroad Online and so many Pinoys in that game. And found out that majority of them would walk 40 minutes to a internet cafe... dedicated gamers. -
Lolz ziddy, also dedicated farmers for items and gold on any MMO they like
-
wow didn't know there's a bunch of pinoys here!
sign me up, I bought mine 4 days ago! -
-
Awww hope there was a pinoy thread for G51JX users
-
Nice temps dude. Mine is almost the same as yours. Have you tried gaming with heavy load in a 33c room? Mine reached atleast 97c
-
I hope you guys play more demanding games to make use of the hardware, not just ragnarok or dota lol
by the way, how much is this laptop over there? Which shop sells it?
-
I don't even want to try LIVING in a 33C room! -
I know dude. I just got home from oxnard,ca last 2 days. Its like hell here!
) I got mine on bestbuy.
-
-
-
Haven't tried on a 33C room yet, maybe 28-30C room, maxed out at 92C. Still it should be safe till 100C, as you can feel the fan blowing out all the heat. I just love this laptop
Oh yeah, maxed out on furmark @ 107C. Stability Test, xtreme burning mode, post FX, fullscreen and @ 1920x1080. 10 minutes. Try it out, that would be the maximum temp you will probably ever get.
-
-
-
107c? It's like you have your own hell in your g73jh.
)
-
But thats the maximum stress my G73 will ever get, if I play intensive games my max is 86-89C
-
Cool, Do you plan to add a ssd? I watched a video in youtube. Hell, It boots so fast.
-
Not right now, lol spent most of my money buying this
I'll probably upgrade the wifi card first, cheaper, like 20-30$ for extremely fast Wifi speeds
-
Cool.
Where did you get your laptop?
-
I bought it in Canada, actually my father did when he was there and I got him to send it in Manila where I picked it up from the airport and went straight back to good ol'Bacolod city.
-
Woah. So you live in bacolod? I live in manila, And the weather is hell here.
) Did you update your bios dude?
-
Yep, I did and I think its better now, updated from 206(stock).
-
Really? I dont know. But im to scared too brick my laptop if i update my bios. What fixes did it help you?
-
Hmm, GPU Downclocking on DXVA, FN+ESC(annoyed me) and the CPU throttling issue.
-
Oh. what's the purpose of downclocking gpu on dxva?
-
Since it just uses 1% of your video card, it downlclocks to save energy and to lessen heat
-
Do you think i should go for the update of bios?
-
Hmm, its really up to you, if you like it the way it is then don't update, but if you want to make sure its good then update to 209, it fixes some big issues, we don't know for sure how many issues were fixed because ASUS didn't list them, but I believe 209 is one stable BIOS, I probably won't be upgrading the BIOS anymore, since 209 is good enough for me.
-
Oh. Im just scared that i might brick my laptop.
-
I agree. Some got bricked when they upgraded to 209.
@nikola: whats model is your G73?
No issues ba mga G73 na nasa Pilipinas ngayon? -
G73JH-A2, I bought mine in Canada, don't know about buying it here.
-
Any one try to use the setFSB to overclock their i7?

hi there! ive been following these forums for quite a while in regards to my decision getting one of these babies.finally got mine through balikbayan box (door to door) thanks to my aunt in las vegas (which left me in a state of hysteria considering the integrity of our customs officials) .thankfully i got mine in perfect condition! ordered from btotech btw, really good service! quick, honest and straightforward replies with shipping on time.(although eddie did say that mine was gonna come with a razer mouse but it came with the asus rog mouse instead, but i welcomed that error
) anyway im pretty happy with this beast.dont plan on moving to 209, but ive upgraded my cat to 10.6 without any issues (ran WEI without any hitches) i played around with Assassins Creed 2 for a couple of hours in my air-conditioned room (although im still sweating.not sure what the ambient temps are) and according to gpu-z i topped at around the high 70's. idle temps are in the mid 50's.im using a laptop cooler thats way too small for this beast so i doubt if it really makes a difference
mabuhay pilipinas! -
Go for the bios update, just make sure you do it with ezflash. As for my temps, new max of 86 today at 30C in the house. Usually, i get a max of 84C. The 86 was also after roughly 3 hours of gaming.
If you are worried about your temps, you can always use the Xeven vBios, it lowers your temps quite a bit. You could also order from a reseller like xotic, you'll need to import though, and have them apply better thermal paste. -
guys, how did you update your ATI drivers?
-
guys, how did you update your ATI Catalyst Drivers?
-
-
Finally got my G73JH-A2. Sure took quite awhile for Johnny Air to bring it to Manila.
-
@dark_nerd
theres a link somewhere on these forums.i suggest you search.as for the procedure, make you sure download and install BOTH the 10.6 CCC suite and the drivers themselves. the download should be a bundle of those two. -
Here's the Catalyst 10.6 Mobility Drivers. Yes those temps are good sicmofo, with airconditioning, temps will never reach 90C, welcome to the pinoy G73 owners guys, lets help each other out.
Also any of you got Battlefield Bad Company 2? Lets play online sometime, if you want the game, which is epic in my opinion, go buy it off steam right now, its on sale. -
-
I know we just met, but I've got to ask you about the search function. Have you heard of it? It's a revolutionary new tool that prevents people from posting (and reposting) information that is already available. If the forum search function isn't working (as many claim it does not), then google provides a secondary method for searching for information that is easily accessible.
I look forward to getting to know you better in the future! Perhaps we can set a time to discuss our future together. In the meantime, perhaps a little bit (a tiny bit! It's REALLY easy) of effort on your part would be appropriate? It would be so much better if you'd stop asking the same question on several threads and find the (easily accessed) information using the search function. -
-
hard isnt it? -
I'm glad I saw this thread. I'm seriously considering getting a g73 or N61 when I go to IL on a quick business trip. I was wondering guys though, what do you do about support?
The Philippines is listed in the Asus support page:
http://support.asus.com/contact/contact_right.aspx
But I was wondering if they can reliably provide service and support for Asus notebooks that are normally not available here. You guys have any relevant experiences concerning this?
Thanks in advance.
Pinoy g73jh owners.
