    Arrgh, the pinoys!

Used to play Silkroad Online and so many Pinoys in that game. And found out that majority of them would walk 40 minutes to a internet cafe... dedicated gamers.

Yep met a few who would play for money. Level up your character, 4 hours a day for a week for like $75. Still too steep for me, but knew a lot of players that got their character power leveled by Pinoys. It worked well for them since they lived in US and time difference with Phillipines worked well.

Haven't tried on a 33C room yet, maybe 28-30C room, maxed out at 92C. Still it should be safe till 100C, as you can feel the fan blowing out all the heat. I just love this laptop :D Oh yeah, maxed out on furmark @ 107C. Stability Test, xtreme burning mode, post FX, fullscreen and @ 1920x1080. 10 minutes. Try it out, that would be the maximum temp you will probably ever get.

Hmm, its really up to you, if you like it the way it is then don't update, but if you want to make sure its good then update to 209, it fixes some big issues, we don't know for sure how many issues were fixed because ASUS didn't list them, but I believe 209 is one stable BIOS, I probably won't be upgrading the BIOS anymore, since 209 is good enough for me. :D

hi there! ive been following these forums for quite a while in regards to my decision getting one of these babies.finally got mine through balikbayan box (door to door) thanks to my aunt in las vegas (which left me in a state of hysteria considering the integrity of our customs officials) .thankfully i got mine in perfect condition! ordered from btotech btw, really good service! quick, honest and straightforward replies with shipping on time.(although eddie did say that mine was gonna come with a razer mouse but it came with the asus rog mouse instead, but i welcomed that error :D) anyway im pretty happy with this beast.dont plan on moving to 209, but ive upgraded my cat to 10.6 without any issues (ran WEI without any hitches) i played around with Assassins Creed 2 for a couple of hours in my air-conditioned room (although im still sweating.not sure what the ambient temps are) and according to gpu-z i topped at around the high 70's. idle temps are in the mid 50's.im using a laptop cooler thats way too small for this beast so i doubt if it really makes a difference

    mabuhay pilipinas! :p

Go for the bios update, just make sure you do it with ezflash. As for my temps, new max of 86 today at 30C in the house. Usually, i get a max of 84C. The 86 was also after roughly 3 hours of gaming.

If you are worried about your temps, you can always use the Xeven vBios, it lowers your temps quite a bit. You could also order from a reseller like xotic, you'll need to import though, and have them apply better thermal paste.

theres a link somewhere on these forums.i suggest you search.as for the procedure, make you sure download and install BOTH the 10.6 CCC suite and the drivers themselves. the download should be a bundle of those two.

    Hey Dark_nerd,

I know we just met, but I've got to ask you about the search function. Have you heard of it? It's a revolutionary new tool that prevents people from posting (and reposting) information that is already available. If the forum search function isn't working (as many claim it does not), then google provides a secondary method for searching for information that is easily accessible.

I look forward to getting to know you better in the future! Perhaps we can set a time to discuss our future together. In the meantime, perhaps a little bit (a tiny bit! It's REALLY easy) of effort on your part would be appropriate? It would be so much better if you'd stop asking the same question on several threads and find the (easily accessed) information using the search function.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I'm seriously considering getting a g73 or N61 when I go to IL on a quick business trip. I was wondering guys though, what do you do about support?

The Philippines is listed in the Asus support page:
    http://support.asus.com/contact/contact_right.aspx

But I was wondering if they can reliably provide service and support for Asus notebooks that are normally not available here. You guys have any relevant experiences concerning this?

    Thanks in advance.
