Not sure if the ZBD or ADW is worldwide, though.

Whooaa.. After digging the forum for a particular thread, I've found this Pinoy thread
Mabuhay ang mga Pinoy G73JH owners! Me and my brother got our G73JH from Texas via Amazon. After his 3 months stay on Texas for work, I got my beast on July.
By the way I can't believe my idle temps are 68-71C (ambient is 26-31C). I'd love to do some repaste but I'm still finding a way to get an ICD7 thermal paste. Plus I have to do some checklist in preparing the right tools that I'll be needing. I'm also hesitant to do it at home due to dust and small hairs of our dog that might get inside this beast while disassembling. I might try to open this up and repaste this inside a hotel some other time

Is ASUS PH still not repasting G73s?
-
JehutyZeroshift Notebook Evangelist
I tried asking the Asus World on SM Megamall but they said that they don't do repasting T_T What kind of Asus Service Centre is that?
I'm kinda hesitant to let them repaste the GPU of my G73 because this model is very uncommon here in PH and their technician might screw-up because of that. -
Ive sold one member my last tube of icd7 here in the Philippines..
But, im still going to the states this summer and going back this june. Just tell me guys if you want me to buy you the icd7 paste.
-
Big hello to all filipino here!! BTW who lives here in California?

Too bad I just ordered an ICD7 on eBay coming from Canada. But I think it's ok as I will be repasting this Feb as soon as the order arrives.
Hello there Kidka$h, I have my relatives living there in Livermore, CA
-
Just a precaution, do the repasting job while you are calm and fully rested, its not very good when you're tired, especially on your first time. Goodluck!
-
North Orange County here...but I'm not Filipino
-
In a few weeks will have a vacation again in Oxnard, Ventura county for three monthhs.

Im going to grab the best buy version this week! Cant wait.
-
Good for you.
Hope everything goes well.
-
I used to play on bo-ro[dot]net
Was fun but economy was struggling to increase.
More people the better -

I missed playing private server of Ragna. I used to play Phil-RF Online but duplicated items became rampant, making the currency almost no value, except to the NPCs. Now, I only play CoD2:MW2 and SC2.
-
Wow, I play ragna private servers too, I play on EssenceRO, very good server, stability and player wise, it is fun.
-
When I was in the Philippines last month.. I was getting an idle of 60C... with my GPU repasted... btw, one from daly city, CA here... an owner of G73jh... specs at my sig. how u doin guys??
-
So, Youve changed your lcd screen to an lg matte 1920x1080. How is it? Is it better than the glossy one?
-
yep... i like the matte one than the glossy... plus, upgrading from 16x9 to 1080 is worth it..
-
JehutyZeroshift Notebook Evangelist
Glossy LCD is better on mostly dark environment as the colors produced are more detailed and vibrant even though it does produce more glare when near the window or light. Matte LCD is better on environment with decent lighting as its screen material helps diffuse ambient lighting. -
is the g73 dvd can burn ?
-
mga idol sino na dito ang nag format or clean install ? pa tulong please
-
JehutyZeroshift Notebook Evangelist
Yo kababayan, sure it can! Does this indicate that you didn't backed-up your OS when you first got your beast? It is a must to backup your OS when you first got this beast. Me and my brother's G73JH-A2 burned the recovery disks the day that we got our G73. You'll be using Asus AI Recovery Burner. I backed-up mine and burned a total of 6 DVDs.
The 6 DVDs are now my recovery disks wherein when the time comes that my OS gets corrupted, I'll be able to revert back to factory state (that's why it's a must to create your recovery disks when you first get this beast). Otherwise, if you backup your system late, there might have been a lot of changes on settings/configurations already done on your OS by then.
There's already a thread explaining Windows Fresh Install found in here. Though I'm not sure in your case if you got your beast together with a Windows 7 OS Disk as me and my brother didn't get those disks included after we bought it on Amazon, so we had to backup our OS from the factory state so that those disks are the only thing we could refer to once we need to reinstall the OS. -
Why will you do a reformat?
-
the big problem dude is when i bought this at bestbuy CAlifornia..
i experiencing freeze at the startup... i wanna do Kalim Walkthrought
pero d ko maintindihan ung sinasabi nya.... i already download chastity driver and universal Windows 7 all i need is to burn it...
anyway ung dvd ba dito ay pwedeng pang burn??
because im experiencing Freeze at startup ..... some errors at startup "Access denied blah blah blah"
some people here says the best way is to clean install..
i already have a Windows 7 iso and a G73 Driver ISO provided by Chastity... -
You right. The clean install is the best solution. It will even take off the asus bloatware which you don't need.
-
ano po ba ung Asus Bloatware? nakakalito
- what is AsusBloatware? -

Hello pamboys, before trying to fix your problem with Windows Clean Install, try this first, maybe this will work.
Boot on Windows at Safe Mode. When you just turned on the laptop, keep on pressing F8 and then go on Safe Mode. Try to system restore your OS to the nearest possible restore point (hopefully the restorepoint where you're not still experiencing the startup hang-up.)
After doing a system restore, and hopefully being able to pass startup on Windows (normal mode this time and not safe mode anymore), update your Realtek Audio Driver.
Download the latest Realtek Audio Driver which is the 2.57, download the "Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (Executable file)". Run it, it will uninstall your current Realtek Audio Driver, then it will prompt you to reboot, after reboot, run the Realtek Audio Driver you just downloaded. It will prompt you to reboot again after installing.
Observe if you still experience the startup hangup. -
on the first time we bought this it starts to freeze in the startup 2/10...
but with games i havent encounter any freeze in games and other stuffs -
@ pamboys09, try first JehutyZeroshift's suggestion above and if it does not work, try uninstalling the Creative application (it either starts with the name "Creative", "Soundblaster" or contains "Audigy").
If you still want to reformat or do a fresh install, I can suggest which drivers are needed based on my experience since I already reinstalled twice (I changed my OS to Windows 7 Ultimate).
Please take note that this is just my personal take on the matter. I am considering this as my golden setup since I am not encountering any of the issues mentioned here in NBR about the G73JH-A1. I also saw a 5 degrees reduction in the temperature of my GPU since I installed the 10.12 version of the ATI Mobility Radeon driver (released on December 2010). You should either download the latest drivers from the Asus website or use the G73JH driver DVD. Manually look for the following drivers (please note that the list below is my own way of naming the folders in my file system and might be a little different from the ones listed at Asus' website):
Atheros Lan Driver v1.0.0.14 (2009-11-06)
ATKACPI Driver and Hotkey-related Utilities (2009-12-18)
Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R2.56 ** or use the latest version, R2.57 from Realtek's website
Bluetooth Driver for Windows 7 v6.2.5.500 (2009-12-30)
CMOS_Chicony_CNF7129_VT64_090610 ** this is for the webcam
CardReader_Alcor_WIN7_32_64_151725482
ATI Catalyst™ Display Driver 10.12 ** from ATI's website
Intel INF Update Driver v9.1.1.1023 (2009-12-30)
Intel Matrix Storage Manager for Win7 64 bit 8.9.2.1002 (2009-09-11)
Intel(R) Management Engine Interface v6.0.0.1179 (2009-12-30)
Intel® Turbo Boost Technology Monitor v1.04 ** from Intel's website
Keyboard Device Filter Utility for Win7 64 bit v1.0.0.3 (2009-09-02)
Power4Gear Hybrid Utility v1.1.40 ** search this at Asus' website
Touchpad_Synaptics_WIN7_32_WIN7_64_z140100
USB_Gaming_Mouse_WIN7_32_64_z1000000
Intel® PROWireless and WiFi Link Drivers-Only for Windows 7 ** from Intel's website
You can even skip the other drivers such as LAN, Touchpad, and USB Gaming Mouse since they are already detected by Windows after setting up your OS. The only problem I can see will be probably in the activation of your new Windows installation. If I remember it correctly, using the product key at the bottom of your laptop will not activate the new installation since you are using a completely different version of Windows 7 (not OEM). You should search for a guide here in NBR discussing the workaround for that issue. -
ty mr madence. anyway g73jh can burn ISO? i mean the DVD player
so how do you use windows 7 OEM -
I am not familiar with the Windows 7 Universal Installation DVD provided by Chastity in the asusrog.com forum but since she mentioned there that you can activate it using the license key on your laptop sticker, why not try doing that?
The G73JH can burn an ISO file, just use any DVD burning software such as the factory installed software in your laptop (I guess it's Cyberlink or something), Nero Burning ROM, or if you want, you can use free applications such as ImgBurn (imgburn.com) or CDBurnerXP (cdburnerxp.se). -
thanks alot man.. im just collecting the Clean Install TOOLS and INSTALLER to be prepared if my G73 crash or stops working.. because after i update my vbios i havent encounter any problem for now... THANKS!!
-
