I came across a post somewhere about how easy it is to overclock the core i7-720 in the Asus G73JH but can't find the post now?! I have never overclocked a processor before but wonder how easy and stable it is on the G73?

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

If I'm not mistaken, you can't overclock the stock processor in the G73 in the traditional way. The post you read could have been talking about an upgraded processor, since there are no BIOS options normally. I think with a stock processor the best you can do is push the Turbo button, but I've read that can have some undesired effects, which I can't remember off-hand. Hopefully someone will come along shortly and correct me.

From what I remember it seemed to be something to do with the G73 in particular but I could be wrong.

My memory might be failing here, but I recall reading only the Core i7 XM series processors are coming unlocked, so those are the only ones that are natively supporting OC'ing. More work needs to be done to see if we can work with the QM series of the i7's.

No OC for this CPU besides ASUS's Turbo feature.
I wonder how high it OC's with that?

The Asus TwinTurbo feature is a 7% CPU freq BCLK OC. This means it will affect the memory also.
