    Hey guys,

i need some help. I recently flashed my BIOS with the newest version 213. I used EZ Flash and choosed the bios file located in my C Partition. It flashed succesfully. After restart, only the lights on keyboard turned on, the fan does some work and i heared my drives (HDD and Bluray) turning on but my screen stays black. After a while (2-3min) the g73 restarts by itself and the whole thing begins again. (The Notebook even starts as soon as i plug in the AC cable... ?!?!, not the battery)

I tried to use the AMI BIOS Recovery function. I plugged in USB with 213 bios named AMIBOOT.ROM and pressed CTRL+Home on startup ... At least i saw a change in stick access. The LED on my USB stick lighted up 2 times for about 3 sec... but thats it. This only happens if i press CTRL+HOME. The same will hapen if i dont have any data on the stick and press CTRL+HOME. The Bios somehow accesses the stick but dont find any file. Maybe the filename is wrong. I also tried the same thing with a sd card, but no success.

Pls help, i dont want to RMA... its still under warranty but i need the book for work...btw: sry for my bad english ;P

Pull the battery and AC cable and hold down the reset button for 10 seconds, wait... put the battery + AC cable back in and check again.

You could also try resetting the CMOS battery.

Did you use a BIOS file located on your HDD or on a USB stick?

I am pretty sure that you cannot use a HDD to flash the BIOS when it is under NTFS or at least you are not suppose to.

Do you have the files on a bootable USB Stick so that you can blind flash?

maybe this is possible, but i dont know if the stick is accessed. btw keep in mind that my G73 is constantly restarting by itself every 2-3min. (sometimes earlier)

Sorry to give you this news but this comes from Chastity herself who is an Asus tech what I said above seems true... :(

You could try all of the tricks, resetting the CMOS battery, pulling the HDD and RAM modules to try and get it running but it seems RMA might be the only option.

    Bios 213 killed by G73JH

This is the post that quote came from ^^ it seems all of the things the OP tried failed and Chastity mentions in the post that since April this year they have had nearly a dozen RMA's from people who flashed their laptop through EZFlash from a NTFC partition and it failed.

Sadly you may need to RMA it as it is covered if you are under warranty. I cannot help on the blindflash front I have never done one maybe someone else can.

I would contact Chastity I am sure she still has access to her PM's on this forum otherwise message her on ASUSRog and I am sure she will be happy to help or arrange this for you and it should speed up the process.

Otherwise you will need to contact Asus Directly to find out where your nearest repair centre is, but try and go through Chastity first.

She will probably need all of the information about your laptop, model and serial number, warranty number etc.
