    Possible to lock the i7 720qm on the G53 to dual core and overclock to 3+ ghz?

    the i7 cpus automatically overclock to 2.8ghz if only one core is under load or to 2.4ghz if only 2 cores are under load.

    so if u disable 2 cores and only use 2 of them permanently, u should be able to score some improvement, but i highly doubt u could increase the limit from 2.4ghz to 3ghz without improved cooling.

    laptops are not the best gear for overclockers.... this is not like with desktop core-i cpus which can be overclocked to almost twice the official speed...
