    Hello!

First of all, im new to this forum but following you guys from day 1 I bought my G73. I tested a few coolers that blow air upwards and come to the conclusion it dont work very good. Tested the Targus chillmat, Zalman NC2000 and the Recom Easyflow. 2 weeks ago, i ordered 4 exotic startech coolers, these coolers are attached on the grills on the back. Hope they can pull off a few C! Will let u know, and keep this updated.

Yesterday i was surfing on youtube, and saw some advertising about some super turbo cooler. So i watched it, and i was kinda impressed! Maybe there is a good cooler for our baby!

Im going to order this one, and will let u know if it works :3

Does the G73 even need an additional cooler? G73's cooling system is pretty much over-designed, and should require no additional notebook cooler.

In addition, I don't think any conventional notebook cooler would work well with G73. The best way to keep your laptop cool (if it is not already) is either keep the ambient temperature cool, or reduce the graphical settings to decrease the workload on the GPUs.

I don't use a cooler with it. The Zalman NC2000 actually only made a 2C difference in 70F ambient temperature so I took it off.

LOL those coolers wont do anything, the only ones that seem to be able to do anything are those that can shoot significant enough air into the vents on the bottom, the access panel. I have an NC2000 like masterwares above, like he said, didnt make much difference, only in the HDD temps did I really see a change (since thats where the vents are, and thats where the NC2000 pushes the air)

You don't need a cooler. I have never used one and I've never overheated or even gotten close to it.

I use the massive23 CS, and it does drop few degrees from the GPU\CPU heat.

I use the Storm SF-19 and it does lower my temps marginally, i have a screenshot of my temps with the base panel removed and it running at 2900RPM on both fans and I drop from 79oC to 70oC across the GPU board.

The CPU does not recieve the same benefit because of where it is placed but still for benchmarking it is very useful, I personally could not have it running that loud for normal usage though because it does get silly, the main reason I like a nice sturdy cooler is because I use my laptop on my bed and it helps keep the airflow nice and clean and clear.

IMO coolers are not worth the money but if they look cool and help the clearance from the surface they are worth investing in.

Problem is with a cooler your just blowing air into the laptop and if the air is already hot and humid it will make minimal difference.

What you need is something similiar to what I have because I have a portable Air conditioner I have hooked up a tube from it and drilled a hole in my Storm and attached it so that its is pumping freezing cold air into the fans and into the laptop.

Pretty extensive and hardcore to go those lengths to get lower temps though. :D

    Yes, that´s what I need!

I´ll try to find a small AirCon here, and start experimenting...

Any chance for a Youtube vid of this "Dallers AirCon Special"?

    ;)

Its a box with a tube from it that I nicked from my old hoover, I just drilled the right size hole into my Storm SF-19 for the rubber end bit and stuck it in lol its not really video worthy and due to the noise I only used it for benchmarks but can wire it all back up for you if you like :p

Experimentation is the key if you really need the extra cooling its an idea but with an air con running and storm its too noisy for my liking.

Best air cooler for a G73/74 is an air conditioner :)
