Well this has been bothering me for quiet some time and I was hoping that some of you on this forum would be able to fill in some gaps. I'm no computer tech. So basically, I received my Asus G53 back after I sent it in for a repair. The power pin broke off so I couldn't charge/power the laptop on. The laptop had some sensitive information in it (different passwords to every account I have and personal pictures I would rather the public not see, IM chat logs etc). Because I couldn't turn on the laptop, I had no choice but to send it in (Only one hard drive). When it was returned I looked at the window log and it showed that two USBs were installed during the time of repair. A Kingston Data Traveler and a Schering Plough USB (no idea what it is; tried googling). Again, I have no knowledge of the repair process or Asus's privacy practices and am not making accusations. I just want to know the reason that these devices were installed and hope my concerns are unwarranted. Any input/insight would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The techs have standard apps they use to confirm proper operations, and benchmarks. Also, they may have had to flash or install updates. They probably have preset USB sticks for such things, and ran their diagnostics from them. I do.
