Well this is my first and only problem I have had with my G73 ( knock on wood). My power cord ( near the laptop connector, the black plastic thing?) has a loose cable. When the cable moved ( it does frequently because i use my laptop actually on my lap, with a cooling pad) it will switch to battery mode and back. Does anyone have any ideas of what to do?

RMA it - there should be no problem.

They are saying I have to send the whole system back. I just want to send the cable back. Should I talk to a manager?

Does anyone know a way to get around this. I dont want to send my whole laptop out. I just want to send the power adapter. I used a friends cable and had confirmed that it is th power cable and not the power adapter on the laptop.

edit: I even tried talking to a manager. I start school next week and the laptop will be needed.

tell them what you told us,you tested it and it is a faulty power cord, don't yield and I assume they'll maybe agree on just RMA'ing the power cord...
    or send you a replacement

Yea I tried to convince him and he said he can ask to expidite the process but I still have to send my laptop back. I think I might just spend $50 on a new one from newegg.ca or try to RMA through newegg. I hear that new egg will send you a new one and when they get your old one they will put the money back on your credit card. Anyone know of this actually happening?

I think you have the right to demand a cross ship in this scenario. But I'm not sure.

Well i got the situation fixed. I have to do an advanced RMA where they send me the new power cord and i send them back the broken one. This is my first experience with ASUS customer support and it was terrible.
