I got my G74sx-xt1 3 days ago and barely started running games on it yesterday (Battlefield 3 and skyrim). I noticed that the power supply was getting pretty hot. I tend to worry too much about things and I want to add a small fan to it. Has anybody tried this before? Would anyone advise against it? Is it fine the way it is?

Haha Thanks. After running Heaven benchmark for a while I noticed it wasn't too hot. Maybe I was over-excited.

When I am running Battlefield 3 with my GPU clocks at 850/1175 my GPU is on the verge of cooking scraping 95oC for memory and shaders the brick you dont even wanna think about the touching and its bloody huge!

Personally if it is not nearing the point of catching fire then I am not fighting hard enough and have to pull out the support gun instead ;)

See. HUGE! The warning sticker is an understatement :)

What I do on the power supply of my G73JH is that instead of letting it stand on its rubber feet, I let it stand on its side so that greater surface area is exposed to the air, for better heat dissipation I presume =)
