    Simply
when you unplug the laptop it starts to work in a different mode called BATTERY MODE which uses less CPU power and etc.

You need to choose High Performance mode and it will work just fine but will drain your battery much faster.

This happens in every game for me, but i always use my charger so its not a problem. If i chose to play without the adaptor ever than i would switch to the high performance mode.

Since you're on a SW that has an nvidia card, nvidia powermizer is probably the cause.

Powermizer is definitely the cause, it's probably set to lower the clocks on battery on all power profiles. You can change that in the nVidia control panel but remember it will also affect your battery lie when not gaming.

The differences between the JH and SW are the ff:
-JH has ATI 5870 and first gen core i7
-SW has Nvidia 460m and a second gen or sandy bridge i7

You simply shouldn't game on battery period. You'll drain it in 20 to 30 minutes anyways. The JH was the first G73 model and is no longer available (launched early 2010), the hardware differences are listed in the above post.
